For our Multiplayer Round - Casual Only - 3-4 Players i have rebuild my old Mono Black Devotion Deck because it had to less interaction for my opinion, the strategy was get fast Mana and survive to then kill your opponents with Gary, Torment of Hailfire or Exsanguinate. When you run then into a Counterspell your hope to win is fast gone
So because of that i decidede to rebuild it into this:
To boost creature sacrifice I go with Bastion of Remembrance, giving me +1 devotion permanently, a cheap blocker or target for Village Rites and slowly sucking my opponents dry and regenerating my own life points.
Well Gray Merchant of Asphodel is actually a nobrainer in this game mode, 4x is a bit too much for me since I got it to often in my starting hand even though I only need it for turn 4 - 5 - 6.
If I've thought the deck through correctly, I have a few life points left in the later game and can rely on Bolas's Citadel as both an accelerator and a finisher.
Exsanguinate should serve as a finisher or last resort when my life points are running out (findable with the help of the tutor.).
Living Death serves as a finisher when there are already 1-2 Gary's in the Graveyard but also as a Mass Removal when things get dicey for me. (Findable with the help of the tutor.). Living Death and the Nightmare Shepherd synergies very well.
pucatrade
big receipts
alpha mox emerald
beta time walk
4 goyfs received
3 liliana of the veil
4 karn liberated
3 force of will
4 grove of the burnwillows
snapcaster mage
3 horizon canopy
2 full art damnation
I don't think I would play a Gary deck without Whip of Erebos.
I would also prefer Blood on the Snow (with snow swamps of course) over Living Death. Yes you only get back one Gary, but your opponents get nothing, and it also hits planeswalkers just in case.

So because of that i decidede to rebuild it into this:
2 Cabal Stronghold
4 Yarok's Fenlurker
4 Viscera Seer
4 Dusk Legion Zealot
2 Bolas's Citadel
1 Living Death
1 Exsanguinate
2 Ayara, First of Locthwain
4 Nightmare Shepherd
3 Gray Merchant of Asphodel
3 Drag to the Underworld
4 Village Rites
1 Scheming Symmetry
2 Call of the Death-Dweller
3 Bastion of Remembrance
But I am not sure if this is fit my plan and I like to have feedback by you.
So here the Card Choice:
So key card here is Nightmare Shepherd which buffs creatures with ETB effects like Yarok's Fenlurker or Dusk Legion Zealot.
To get our creatures killed I use Viscera Seer and Ayara, First of Locthwain as well as paired with Card Draw Village Rites. Ayara is a nice devotion giver.
To boost creature sacrifice I go with Bastion of Remembrance, giving me +1 devotion permanently, a cheap blocker or target for Village Rites and slowly sucking my opponents dry and regenerating my own life points.
To bring the little critter back into play to do all the ETB fun with the Nightmare Shepherd again I found Call of the Death-Dweller quite useful.

Drag to the Underworld as target removal, I should definitely have the Devotion prerequisite from turn 3 and therefore it is in my opinion the better choice than candidates like Cast Down/Doom Blade/Go for the Throat/Victim of Night.
Living Death serves as a finisher when there are already 1-2 Gary's in the Graveyard but also as a Mass Removal when things get dicey for me. (Findable with the help of the tutor.). Living Death and the Nightmare Shepherd synergies very well.
phyrexian arena or underworld connections also give card draw which add to your devotion
