Thank you guys. I'm lucky to actually own 4 copies and my meta is creature-heavy as well. I'll just play with the two copies.

Has anyone given the new Bastion of Remembrance a try? Sticky devotion/Zulaport Cutthroat, comes with fodder, immune to your own board wipes.

It's a good card for any Zulaport Cutthroat style deck. I got my 5 (4 for Constructed, 1 for EDH) and I intend to use them in a variety of shells. It's durable, it scales well, it adds devotion, there's enough going on here for us to like.

Also taking a look at Insatiable Hemophage, if you mutate one on it, that's 1 damage, two is 4, three 9, and four 16? If that's how it works? Seems like a worse Gary obviously but there could be some merit to it. Chittering Harvester and Cavern Whisperer seem okay as well in casual circles.

Also the cartoon arts for them are amazing.

Agreed! I'm also going to build that deck for fun:



My flex slots would be things like Paradise Druid, Assassin's Trophy, Find // Finality, Beast Within, Pernicious Deed, Deathreap Ritual and maybe some of the Mythic Mutate creatures.

I was digging through cards and found a great mutate base creature. It's a real blast from the past (4 years!). Elusive Tormentor! I almost forgot about this guy. Literally unkillable. Not sure that a mutate stack is better than Nighthowler but you could always play both?

Back after a few weeks and man, I have to say Whisper Squad is one of my more favorite cards from the set. It slices. It dices. It even shuffles for Bolas's Citadel in a pinch.

I've also been playing a ton of Scheming Symmetry in every black deck including this one. I throw in a ton of fun-of's like Open the Graves or Liliana, Dreadhorde General and it does the trick.

Core 21 has given the archetype a new toy. Vito, Thorn of the Dusk rose. So easy to splash you can use it in a variety of colors It doesn't hit each player, but the card plays so well with any type of life gain shell and the cost to play him is well within limits. It's an unlimited combo like Sanguine bond and Exquisite blood as it is essentially sanguine bond with legs.

I have used him in multiplayer in many Orzhov shells like Extort, vampires, Soul Sisters. He can be run in mono black decks like Devotion, Vampires, Cat oven decks to name a few. There is a fun janky standard lifegain deck with revival // revenge to OTK your opponent.

Of course, he will be used in EdH as a general and in the 99 as well.

So far I have been nothing but impressed with the card. It dies to removal at no benefit, but for a 3 cmc creature with huge upside I think it's a risk I am willing to take.
