MTG Salvation

I am trying to build a ramp deck for free-for-all (usually between 3 to 5 players).

I am trying to figure out what strategy to use. Use mana generator creatures such as Llanowar Elves and Overgrown Battlement, use ramp sorceries/enchantments, or a combination of both ? And how many ? I am afraid to have too many ramp stuff or not enough.
