I think you misunderstood me, what I should have said was "All of my decks are built with multiplayer in mind".
That being said, I agree that mulitplayer is a different creature than two player casual. In my entire magic "career" I've played four to five player multiplayer games. Just the way I grew into it. I appreciate a good multiplayer game far more than I appreciate a two player game of any stripe.
If you play multiplayer you could probably find some appeal in my decks. I'll post them here in a bit.
i noticed a gametype in the SC2 multiplayer that could go well into magic. the game type is called phantom.
basically, you have 2 phantoms, 2 pallidins and 2 slayers.
slayers are regular player
pallidins and slayers get extra draws (increased hand size as well) and their life total is increased to 40
slayers and pallidins are trying to kill the phantoms and phantoms are trying to kill everyone else.
phantoms win if everyone else dies or if they use a wincon (note that slayers and palidins cannot use wincons but can use "player loses the game" inorder to kill phantoms)
players arent allowed to attack for the first 3 turns (in order to give all the players a chance to asses who may be the phantom and a chance to see if anyone needs protecting)
each players may recieve a cross block once per round
so yeah we have been trying this out and find that its pretty decent and is interesting like assassin. do you think that there should be any changes to this?
I've played "Tag" a couple of times. Whenever someone does damage to anyone else, the damaged player becomes "it". Everyone else goes after that player until that player hits someone else with damage.
It is possible to target other things with spells / effects, but you must try to kill the player who is it.
I'm looking for suggestions for a multiplayer discard deck. The main cards I want to use are Anvil of Bogardan and Lore Broker, as they cause everyone to draw & discard. And the draw part is important because it still works when they have no cards in hand. I think they're the only two cards that do that actually, could be wrong though. Burning Inquiry would be nice but I don't know if I want to go 3 colors, although grixis is fun. Anyway, I want to combine the anvil and lore broker with Liliana's Caress (obvious choice) as well as Geth's Grimoire, which get's really ridiculous in multiplayer. Any other ideas on how to fill out the rest of the deck?

Primary and only casual rule: "any rule that is fine for the most part of the playgroup, is a fine rule". So any further thread with: "if somebody uses/does .... in a casual game, is it ethical/ok?", read the answer above.
- Being a "Johnny/Spike" means you like self-torture. You win often in casual, so everybody hates you; you loose often in competitive, so you hate yourself.
I played a chaos game once, and that was a ton of fun. For those who don't know, it's a regular free-for-all game with a twist. at the beginning of each players turn, they roll a 6-sided die. if it lands on 6, the top card of the chaos deck is revealed. the chaos deck is a separate deck nobody controls full of cards that affect all players such as wrath of god, mycosynth lattice, or arbiter of knollridge. The revealed card stays revealed unless another person rolls a 6. all players must conform to the card's rules. A graceful adept would also work, just apply it to all players.

I wanna rock and roll all night... and part of every day.
Oo, we played a world enchantment theme similar to your chaos. We would have a starting player where the top card of the "world enchantment" deck was flipped over. We would have to play with whatever that happened to be turned over. No instants / sorceries only permanents. Re-flip each turn at the starting player.
Right,
So here are my decks:
(This is going to take a while; And it's all paper magic, no proxies - except for Underground Seas, ONE freaking Master of the Wild Hunt [so lazy], Tolarian Academy)
So do you guys think this should sort become the sticky? It was first designed to be used in place of a forum now that we got one, I suppose we can use this as that typical all around knowledge thread.
I was once part of a group that would play Musical Decks.
After a predetermined number of turns (generally 3), all the players would put down their hands and move one seat to the left, picking up their new hand and going from there. Sometimes, players would keep life totals in the switch, and other times, the life total would stay with the deck.
We started this method to give everyone a chance to play 'that deck' while also forcing others to try something new.
Obviously, this version only works with people you trust to not damage or loot your cards.
Game play is substantially different than most free-for-alls, as many players do not want to leave anything useful behind for the next guy to get them with. Long-term planning is nigh impossible in this format, which suited most of that group fine.
Cheers!

If in the area, check out Gamers N Geeks and Mini War Games in Mobile, Alabama and Underhill's Games in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
For the emperor section in the first post of the thread - the link to "Emperor by James Ernest" is an article by Anthony Alongi. I'm don't see any indication of who wrote the article that's linked to with the "Emperor by Anthony Alongi" link. That's just in the rules section of the mothership.
"The player who was sited down the last picks clockwice or conter-clockwice turn order."
We tried this once with a large group. Counter-clockwise didn't turn out so well.
Unfortunately years instinct kicks in and when you pass the turn quite often the player to the left would have a go. This resulted in a game similar to a game of UNO. Skip. Reverse.
Sphere of influence type table with usually 4 other players, all but 1 older guys like myself. The one younger chap is a 'son of' and really into magic winning local tournaments etc. I recently tried putting together an all red deck to basically destroy anything and everything until my kill condition cames out.. what do you guys think? useless idea? anything I can do to amp it up? Ive tried to cover all bases and be able to use whatever I draw. Hence the complete mish mosh of single cards. Sorry if Ive not done the deck corectly, first time posting.
What is your win condition in this deck? The three cards that seem to be able to take down 4 players with burn seem like Repercussion, Dingus Staff and Fiery Emancipation.
To smooth out your draws, find your win conditions and fill your hand if you run out of gas, I would look towards some cheap draw spells like Reckless Impulse. You could probably trim a few of the wraths to find room for them.

I have seen it go two ways. Blue black Urza's Guilt + Megrim effects..
Or go straight mono black with nasty beyond nasty discard and then punish them for not keeping cards in their hands. Oppression. Gibbering Descent ect. then hollowborn barghest and Wheel of Torture for pain. Ect.
Both are find options. I like the blue/black just because of wheel and deal hehe.
Windfall is cool for UB.
Rite of Consumption on Nocturnus to kill player B after you've just killed Player A with your 26/26 fear is a move to remember.
