ah. my two mana casting slot is full of more pertinent things though, the infestations and various reanimations come out at that point. still, i do need one more card...
maybe i can trade for a yawgmoth's will.

Remember that you can't replay Entomb/Buried Alive with Yawgmoth's Will because the cards you tutour out would be exiled as opposed to being placed into the grave. Also, in my experience, people don't usually want to trade away their Yawg Wills unless it's for high value stuff (I know mine is on my perma "will-not-trade" list ).
You know, if anything, I'd work on your creature package. I don't understand the need for so many multiples of the same creature. Why not create a utility package with an answer to everything instead? This must eventually get boring reanimating the same 2 creatures game in game out no?
Ooops, I ment Thoughtseize. Yeah, I was thinking about discard. Distress could be used as a one-time thing, but so would the others. Demonic Tutor could be good, if Vampiric Tutor is out of your range (budget).
well, i have the blazing archons, but i wanted to keep the deck angels only (long story why, generally ends with me yelling at my opponents in german), though i can get my hands on sphinx of the steel wind and angel of despair, and have quite a few inkwell leviathans.
Do you want to run any removal in the deck? If not, it's probably fine, but If you do then i'd definately try Swords to Plowshares and/or Path to Exile. (Splashing white of course).
well, i have the blue bounce in sideboard because it's more versatile, otherwise i would be using white. with on card i can hit any permanent for one or two mana, i'd need pricey vindicates for that with white, and i've expended most of my budget making this monstrosity. If i wasn't an idiot i would have gotten entombs for $6 each 6 months ago. back on topic though, the bounce is only temporary though, anything more permanent that would deal with any of the pesky impediments to a smooth victory. (the only creature i've had any trouble with was another reanimator using blazing archon to lock down and some irritating shadow midgets to attack unchallenged, he'd built it especially to annoy me)
cant believe i forgot the ring, the problem is by the time i have 3 mana, the game is usually over. in that case i would need to shift more to a control build. meh, maybe i'll make a second sideboard in white.
- Exhume in a such discard heavy list is a really bad idea. You give them free options to get with your Exhume. Play any other reanimation spell, but not Exhume.
- I'd split the Kushos for some fat that has shroud or protection or something.
- Not all of your removal should cost 4cmc, try cheaper options. Damnation is also sub-par as it will kill whatever you reanimated.
- Lake of the Dead to accel out fat without reanimation?

any thoughts on the new nuke wurm from worldwake?
no protections, but a wrath every turn seems interesting
Interesting, but I don't know if that's something you want in there, aside for the laugh factor. It does say "Destroy all other creatures", so it seems somewhat counter-productive to what you're trying to do as a Reanimator, that is, bring up your fatties so the other dude's creatures are largely irrelavant.
In the meanwhile, I'll submit my deck here. Constructive criticism is welcomed and appreciated. Even if it is just a casual deck, I would love this to run smoothly. My main concern (since I am not made of cash and therefore cannot run Entombs) is whether my ratio of creatures, revival, and discard is off or not.
i rarely find myself with more than one creature out anyway (probably need me 2-3 animate dead in mine as well). though the lack of protections is a bit off-putting.
A classic reanimation combo was Animate Dead and Spirit of the Night. It worked out in the past where the Animate Dead fell off Spirit of the Night as it came into play due Spirit's pro B. Is this still the case? This may have been effected by all of the rules updates and changes that have happened recently.
When Animate Dead leaves the battlefield, that creature's controller sacrifices it.
So when you enchant Akroma or Spirit of the Night, they'll jump to the battlefield, shrug of their aura state-based and fall right back to the graveyard again.
The WWK wurm has an ability that is usefull for Reanimator when it's about to lose in two turns and has neither haste nor protection. I admit it's one bomby form of evasion and kills in 3 turns, but I think it's to fragile for 1:1. Could be interesting in multiplayer.

Alright I'm going to rebuild my reanimator again, and by rebuild I mean just find the cards and put it together again lol. But I'm thinking about getting all the foil versions of the creatures, so I need to decide if my list seems decent. Here is the list of creatures that I am willing to consider for the deck:
Not sure if I've missed any other considerations. Reanimator was my very first MTG deck way back when before all these cool fatties came out. Back then Multani, Maro Sorcerer and Verdant Force + Contamination were a force to be reckoned with =)
But anyway, I have ~13 slots at most for my deck. And this is the list I am thinking so far:
That is actually 14. Now, do I need multiples of the same creature (Hellkite Overlord). And is Crater Hellion and Blazing Archon redundant? If I have an Archon out, I don't need to remove, no? Unless I suppose they are helping themselves by having creatures out like gaining life with a Wellwisher or something. And lastly, is 4 Putrid Imps necessary? Is 3 doable? I've run 4 since the day they came out, so I'm not really sure. Although in my deck I am running 2x Demonic Tutor so maybe 3 Imps are ok?
Is spot removal necessary anymore? Back then Avatar of Woe and Visara the Dreadful were amazing. But now, I'm not sure anymore. And if it is an asset, which would you choose? I probably have to go with Visara.
I opened one last year, got two crap worldwake packs and 8x scathe zombies, which I promptly hid around my sister's apartment for her roommates to find. But, yeah, it was a piece of crap.
You, sir, have just won the internet. Congratulations.
I am trying to upgrade my current re-animator deck into something a bit more powerful and able to compete in a non powered and powered meta
I have plans on getting 3 more entombs and adding 2 more rituals with dragon but wanted to hear other peoples ideas on how to build it with what to cut and what to add to make it unpowered. Without having to put 800+ dollar cards
Current build aka School Girls
Casual build I assume, you might get more help in the casual forum - but if you are staying unpowered you might upgrade to dual lands and fetchlands - reasonable investments as their value should stay long term.
maybe i can trade for a yawgmoth's will.
Remember that you can't replay Entomb/Buried Alive with Yawgmoth's Will because the cards you tutour out would be exiled as opposed to being placed into the grave.
Anyways, I'd say if you're short one slot you could consider any of the following:
1x Entomb (if not budget)
1x Vampiric Tutor
1x Cabal Ritual
1x Lotus Petal (Great option imo)
1x Sol Ring
1x Grim Monolith
Legacy:
WGMaverickWG

BRGoblins RB
RBUTESRBU
UGW Countersliver UGW
UB Dredge UB
U W CounterThopter U W

I would at the very least drop 1 Iona and 1 Akroma (white) for a Phantom Nishoba and Angel of Despair and a sweeper or Blazing Archon.
