Any advice at all on how to make it more coherent, dangerous, and work well together would be appreciated. I'm open to the idea of splashing in other colors, but I'd like to keep the price reasonable as far as upgrades
Thanks for commenting! I'm willing to spend around 25-30$ on improving the deck, if you have any suggestions on what to cut and what to add in particular.
Exsanguinate and consume spirit stand out as weak without ramp. I'd play some 1 or 2cmc discard. Hymn to tourach covered to mind. Diabolic tutor is similarly problematic as it doesn't affect board. Urge to feed is also good. In the creature side, bloodlord of vasagoth is far too slow, and as strong as drana is, you don't have ramp to support her. Captivating vampire with make sense here.
Alright, I've looked into discard spells, and decided on x2 Harsh Scrutiny and x2 Hymn to Tourach, although I also considered Distress since it's nice to choose what gets thrown out sometimes.
I'd like to keep the Dranas and figure out a way to make her playable. If I cut the Bloodlords and Diabolic Tutors to substitute in Nirkana Revenants and Dark Rituals do you think that would fix the ramp for her?
If you want to play drana I'd probably move to mono-black control, and mostly drop the vampire tribal. It's not so much that you can't play her, but she's not going to support the agressive playstyle that vampires give. I consider vampires to be the fourth aggro/tempo tribe behind Elves (aggro), goblins and merfolk (tempo). Vampires are a little more dependant on having a board, but play extremely well as an aggressive force backed by efficient control and removal. They fall behind the others due to their reliance on 3 cmc lords without the elven ramp, goblin cost reduction and free plays, or merfolk evasion (and 2 cmc lords). In return you get mind control as an activated ability from captivating vampire, and the insanely strong removal and discard from black. Ideally you'd want to wrap up the game around the turn Drana comes into play.
Drana I'd play in a very different deck. Anawon and drana fit well with an early game spent entirely neutering your opponents hand, trading 1 for 1 with their creatures, and then landing one of these power houses to cement your board control and put the opponent on a clock. There's a few other vampires that can fit into this play style. Gatekeeper of Malakir stays as does Vampire Hexmage and maybe Vampire Nighthawk. Some cards you might consider if this route sounds interesting:
Land
x24 Swamp
Creatures
x2 Guul Draz Vampire
x4 Gatekeeper of Malakir
x4 Blood Seeker
x2 Vampire Hexmage
x4 Vampire Nighthawk
x2 Bloodline Keeper
x2 Anowon, the Ruin Sage
x2 Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief
x2 Bloodlord of Vaasgoth
Spells
x4 Feast of Blood
x2 Grasp of Darkness
x2 Exsanguinate
x2 Consume Spirit
x2 Diabolic Tutor

Whichever of these you play, you will probably play Cabal Coffers and similar big black ramp. Liliana of the Dark Realms plays well here.
