Hey there guys! I'm trying to build black white win deck. I have 4xAjani's Pridemate,1x sanguine bond,1xexquisite blood,4serra ascendantand 2felidar sovereign. I also have a bunch of low cost black vampires and multi colored vampires. My problem is I just don't know how to build this deck. I would 3 win conditions. one with felidar sovereign.the other one having to do with serra ascendant and finally the infinite combo sanguine bond, [card]exquisite blood[/card. If you guys can give me suggestion on how to build this deck I would appreciate it. like instances needed, sorceries, other monsters, etc. This mainly for casual fun. Not modern or standard. So all cards are valid. I appreciate the help!
Three different win cons are two too many. You should focus on one win con and build the deck towards that. You get a much better deck this way. Once you have your primary win con solidly established, you can look at the cards you are already using and see if they form a secondary win con or can be easily complimented with a single card to form a secondary win con, if that additional card also supports the primary win con. Like Felidar Sovereign, which is a big enough creature to simply attack with for damage.
The Sanguine Bond+Exquisite Blood combo does not work well with those cards being singletons, you need a full set of each plus tutors for them to make this work. They also don't do very much on their own to support the rest of the deck. So that is the win con I would cut immediately right now.
Full sets of Serra Ascendant and Ajani's Pridemate pull the deck towards an aggressive start, so you want more early creatures with some life gain abilities, like Soul Warden, Knight of Meadowgrain, Vampire Nighthawk, and Kitchen Finks, and some other "free" life gain like Radiant Fountain. With white, you can add answers to troublesome artifacts and enchantments like Invoke the Divine. You can run some black removal that also gains you life like Sorin's Thirst. The point is, that the life gain should come as an aditional effect or as an additional option, not the sole purpose of the card. There are more than enough options out there to gain life from pretty much every card you run, without ever having to play Sacred Nectar and its friends.
One possible removal option for your deck with life gain attached would be Tendrils of Corruption, IF you also run at least 2 copies of Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth. That way, all your lands power up that instant.
Don't be too focused on gain life effects, though. You'll need a bunch of those, and with preferably repeatable effects, but tried and true classics like Go for the Throat, Path to Exile, etc. should still be strongly considered. It's not all about gaining life, but also about not losing life. And the later is best achieved by killing what is trying to kill you in the most efficient way.
Powerful equipment to increase your creatures' power will also be very helpful. That Ajani's Pridemate will surely enjoy wielding a Loxodon Warhammer, for example. If you end up with many lifelink creatures, simple equipment like Vulshok Morningstar can also increase your life gain potential drastically.
As an example of having a primary wincon, I use extort to keep me alive and Karlov slamming hard and exiling threats. It is by itself enough to drain out opponents usually. The multiple sources of extort = plan A. On the off-chance I lose Karlovs and extort is locked down, I also utilize Chalice of Life/Death and Blood Baron of Vizkopa as a plan B that is set up pretty effectively by extort plus the artifacts that give me life. The tutors along with Tsabo’s Decree and Vindicates give me some protection options, too. Super fun, doesn’t try to do too much, works fantastic for smaller group/team games.
Not at all saying you should do anything I am, black/white has so many options there’s a bunch of ways drain and gain can work. I just built this to play an Orzhov deck built around Karlov and extort. Good luck!
