it could save a creature with the +3 toughness boost.. or maybe help kill low toughness attackers. However, would use this card only if I have nothing better to put into my deck in https://mtg.fandom.com/wiki/Limited
Anti-wall tech. though, if i'm reading that right- isn't the creature with lesser power destroyed before combat damage is applied? so, it's a counter against Deathtouch creatures.

I thought, there could be some shenaniganms had with power up instants, but the Oracle text threw that out the window, because it seperated the two cases of attacking and blocking into two abilities, and now specifies, that the attacker/blocker is destroyed, rather than the creature with lesser power.
Anyway, you would want your creatures to have trample, so as to get damage through the destroyed blocker. Otherwsie, it's hardly any different from ordinary chump blocking (yet, there are differences, I know).
Burn spells that only hit creatures are pretty much restricted to Limited environs. I think Fire Prophecy is a good design though, playable in some Grenzo, Dungeon Warden builds or things that don't want to draw an Emrakul and have it sitting in hand. Anyways, Galvanic Bombardment is pretty unstellar. Doesn't start off with enough damage to justify that it can't target a lot of things.

It's amusing to me how many slowtrips were later just reprinted as cantrips, like this card and Predict. In predict's case, the card was further improved to be able to target yourself
Well, that can be used to produce an endless amount of chump blockers, for example. With the inspired mechanic from Born of the Gods it would provide a cheap way to tap a creature to get the untap trigger in your upkeep.
one mana and tapping two creatures for a 1/1.. feels like it's not worth it. But there might be attrition style decks that want it.
Once you have a saproling out, tapping down one of your saps on end step to make another one is a pretty low cost. Compared to Jade Mage this thing is pretty efficient. One of two cards in white that I'd want to push into W for in a saproling deck, the other being Pallid Mycoderm

nice build around card. Just needs the right cards that put +1/+1 counters as support.
