A courser, of course, is half-human, half-horse, possibly coming from strange intercourse, but does not benefit from a human lord source, nor does Crested Sunmare make it a force, but as a warrior it will reinforce the Bramblewood Paragon which will enforce a beating that causes your foe some remorse.
This card is near unplayable without a lot of set up... Temporal Spring? why? though, even giving your opponent a free creature nobody would ever do.

On the other hand, knowing the top card of your opponent's library can have its merits. Your top card changes shortly after the trigger resolves, so your top card will be unknown for a while, though people will know what you've drawn. If you play a creatureless deck, no creature cards will be put on the battlefield with this card. I think, this can be abused with cards like Booby Trap. Clash cards may also be a possibility. But overall, it's probably too clunky for a repeatable spy effect.
Cripes, I remember this card. Hardly anyone ever wanted to play this card even when it was legal in Standard. It was viewed alot like Healing Salve by a lot of people. Almost useless. In most cases, it's a 3cmc "gain 2 life", 4 of you're lucky. That card desperately needed something like Ajani's Pridemate to really take off.
I only actually saw this played by anyone once in an artifact deck that utilized Tron lands. I don't think he got too far with it.
I suppose with cards like Ajani's Pridemate and the like, it might actually be a method to rapidly pump your creatures. Can't see it being super viable but I suppose it could work as a 'B' option....
Back in my Newb days, i made a Timmy Death Pits of Rath deck; Timmy, all of his pre-Invasion block cousins and Caltrops

Nope. One blocker suffices for the requirement of Irresistible Prey. It is not a Lure, which is the classic card to combine with the Basilisk.

One of the lowest rated cards on Gatherer. I wonder why.

I like how the enchantments that say "creatures you control" get around shroud.
Combine him with Intruder Alarm, Shrieking Drake, and Silver Myr and you get infinite pings.
