I have a really good friend that has a deep passion for dragons. His idea of a "fun" game is to get 6 or 7 of his favorite legendary winged lizards onto the battlefeild and swoop in for the kill. The only problem is that it's so slow he can rarely compete in duels unless he gets crazy hands and I draw 6 lands. Multiplayer is another story, if he gets a little while to cast his creatures, he dominates the field with them. Anyways, he's been working on a Dragonstorm deck using Seething Song, Pyretic Ritual, and other "Ritual" effects to ramp into the namesake Dragonstorm, but it's not exactly working the greatest for him. He's having a lot of trouble actually getting Dragonstorm into his hand to play it, and running so heavy on the rituals has left his deck without as many creatures so sometimes he's just stuck with a hand full of ramp and nothing else.
So, I got to reading, and testing a bit online, and came to this:
The burn is there, along with Pyromancer's Swath, in conjunction with Spinerock Knoll to essentially "cheat" in Dragonstorm. Is there a way besides Gamble to "tutor" for Dragonstorm in case it doesn't get drawn? I did some looking on gatherer, but couldn't find anything.
From experience, mono-red D-Storm doesn't work, particularly because the draw is so bad. You're literally goldfishing with luck. Even worse, if you top-deck one of your dragons, you've almost have no way of reshuffling them back into your deck unless you use blue. D-Storm unless really works well with blue because of cantripping and hand fixing. If he's was really bent on not using blue, trying using cards like Crystal Ball and Magma Jet to hand fix. I haven't tried things like Faithless Looting, Reforge the Soul, or Dangerous Wager to see how those work, but I assume using them in conjunction with Elixir of Immortality would be helpful.
Dragon wise, I tend to use Bogardan Hellkites and a single Karrathus for a clear cut alpha strike and guarantee that one player will be out.

Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund + Balefire Dragon = Doom for everyone if he can pull off a Dragonstorm play. Maybe he can try combo'ing off with Rite of Flame, Seething Song, and Geosurge for an ultimate swarm of dragons. If he's gonna run mono color, I'd say stay away from multicolor dragons because once they're in the hand it'll be hard to get them on the field, maybe add some dual lands.
I've got the same problem, working on a mono-red dragonstorm (just because I'm too stubborn to add blue). I've been thinking browbeat, mishra's bauble and manamorphose to thin out the deck but you still end up drawing some of the dragons that you want left in the deck. To solve that you could just put more dragons in the deck... although nothing's quite as good as storming 4 bogardans...
Another solution is to use burning wish to 'tutor'?
Red's just not meant to control the cards it has like blue is. So there aren't really any other ways to do what your friend is trying to do.
4 kokisko 4 bogardian. I know u want mono red but I alway love playing a card in a deck where I can't pay the mana for it. Not cause it cost to muchh but its a diff color. Lol. If u want straigh mono red deff the bogaurds but I also like rorix and any haste dragon
Nah no thanks. You can keep your nerd thug tactics. It is ridiculous that I cant trade MY cards using MY databased list which is easy to update and manage. The mod community here is the terrible, virtual MTG brownshirt club.
Manamorphose is pretty demanding as 4-of on a mono-red version, cantrip and keep mana floating.
Also, i agree with Personv01 dragonwise: 4 Bogardan Hellkite + 1 Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund, is the perfect combination.

This is the only time I would consider playing a hideaway land, haha.
I actually think this could work out to your advantage in a burn-heavy variant.
So, I got to reading, and testing a bit online, and came to this:
4 Molten Slagheap
4 Spinerock Knoll
12 Mountain
4 Dragonstorm
4 Grapeshot
4 Incinerate
4 Lotus Bloom
4 Pyromancer's Swath
4 Rift Bolt
4 Rite of Flame
4 Lightning Bolt
So, now, to all of you maniacal deck builders out there, how do I make this better while staying mono-red?

Titan is there for the sole reason of shuffling back in any dragons you might have discarded to reforge the soul.
