Here's another old school deck of mine...5th edition era, "very nice year!". Essentially, it punishes your opponents for having stuff, and makes 'em pay for it...in general taxing their resources and slow'em down like molasses :)... slowly milking hit points away...
Strategies/synergies:
- All of the cards obviously penalize you for having stuff, and issue upkeep costs.
- Its not the intent (or reasonable) to assume I'll have no creatures to contend...this isn't MUC, or UBC. The deck assumes your opp have a creature or two for you to play with...hence Paralyze and Will-O'-The-Wisp (1cc) and Seizures (2cc), Errant Minion (3cc), Icy Manipulator (4cc).
- Icy Manipulator can deal damage with Psychic Venom, Seizures, or draw me some cards with Betrayal...or play board control duty.
- Despite the 2x's and 3x's, the tutorage and card selection allows for running a variety of more situational cards while still showing some semblance of a curve, for flexibility.
- With more duals (I like the new Mistvein Borderpost), Drain Life would be a good addition.
Overall, its been a fun deck, that's not quite control...not quite agg...not quite sure ;). Probably not good at all by today's standards, but I like the theme :). Looking for budget additions to the existing deck
Pillory of the Sleepless would be perfect, but going three color...hmmmm. My scrubland are in my pestilence deck, and Tundra in Skies, but that card is awesome...
This deck is certainly annoying to play against, but its not all that tough to beat, since its a little slow to start, and ends up being a race that's winnable. That makes it fun to play and play against since its not impossible to beat, and its certainly not a normal deck to play against :).
Stasis...hmmmm, I had a winter stasis deck w/ Serra Angels a long time ago...never thought about it for this. How devious, I like it! This would only need to run a couple, as I'd toss out a few enchantments, only need one "late game". Lock down the board with Stasis and wait for the enchantments to do their thing unfettered with those pesky untapped lands.

You could splash White for Pillory of the Sleepless and some other goodies as well.
Annoying cards that make playing/having things a headache.
You might also consider Crucible of Worlds to recur Strip Mine, Barbarian Ring, or manlands.
Standstill, Exploration/Fastbond, Manabond, Mulch, Maze of Ith, The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale, and Tolaria West are also options if you put more emphasis on lands. With Life from the Loam you can turn it into something like 43lands.dec or Landstill.
