Not to be anal, but just to remind you guys that my score should be 55.5, Anansi says he'd correct his mistake in his last post but didn't, so that highlight should be 19.

Wow... Heartstone... Ok... Didn't know much about it. Isn't that one of the legacy artifacts? From the story? I guess a cool Vorthos deck would be there to build, that's not the route I'm going to go though.
Mind you this is a very rough draft, just that my concept is in early; of coure "my" is probably an exageration as it's probably been thought of before, but I've never seen it elsewhere, so there you go...
Opponents blowing your creatures left and right? Return them all back quickly with Order of Whiteclay.
Want to do stuff right now? But can't wait for creature sickness? Try Volrath's Shapeshifter, he's already there, ready to go.
Mana coming out the wazoo! Pili-Pala + Paradise Mantle + Heartstone = Infinite mana of any color! So with Knacksaw Clique (switching the Mantle back and forth), I'll have the opportunity to put in one shot, all of the opponent's librairies into play, under my control ! How cool is that !!!
Could've gone red with Hateflayer so timmy would be a little more proud, but well... Spike in me whispers: "don't go there, you'd need 2 Heartstones, reanimation, etc, etc; much simpler manabase and quicker plays with justUW !"
Yeah... Spike's always right, damn him...
EDIT: Nevermind, Heartstone is not a legacy artifact; got it confused with other stones.

I'm BACK! I finally saw a card that I could do something with and decided to run with it. Its mono green and the goal is to build up an army of Saprolings with Nemata and the Hierophants that won't be so little thanks to coat of arms and Garruk. For more saproling fun I've added the token staple doubling season to make even more good fun. It has a little protection due to vexing shusher, guttural response and naturalize and otherwise it should be a fun deck thats pretty quick on the clock.
Asking out a girl is like trying to cast a first turn Necropotence. Sometimes the other player will have the Force of Will to say no. You shouldn't let that stop you from trying it.
Concept: Wizard tribal and all cards are uncommon (including lands). This deck is meant for casual multiplayer, where the slowness of it isn't as big of a deal and where nothing is terribly bombastic so as to draw attention, but can do a lot to screw with other players' plans. Hopefully there is enough card drawing to get to the heartstones fast enough to make all the things that cog with it efficient enough. Also note, nothing taps to active, so you can attack away where opportunities permit without losing any 'toolbox' features.
Turn your Planeswalker toys into creatures and use them, also have some creatures that work with Heartstone. They combo turns creatures into enchantments, then they get killed with the other creatures.
Just another note, as people build decks you might want to double check this post about what is and isn't affected by Heartstone.
Cuz I had a kickass rat ninja deck that was putting a beating on some of my stronger decks, except it doesn't work that way at all.
Tell me about it, this card sucks. I had a deck that used stuff like Flailing Manticore, but didnt notice that the cost cant be reduced to zero. I was really hoping for a conflux card.
the point of the deck is to play artifacts and artifact creatures using vedalken to speed things up, then to use karn, tezzeret, memnarch, or march of the machines to turn the non-artifact creatures into artifact creatures, and finally use your activated abilities fur fun and profit. fun things to do at this point include making unlimited mana with basalt monolith, or vedalken engineer+voltaic construct, stealing whatever you want with memnarch on the cheap, and creating lots of myr with myr matrix.
heart stone can be serched out with texxeret, duplicated with sculpting steel, and used with memnarch, scarecrone, pili-pala, voltaic construct.
------------------
now that i've posted my deck, I was reading the other decks and noticed the paradise mantle pili-pala combo! I kenw I was missing a piece. nice catch, fdtori
Shapeshifter Tribal. This deck is a lot of fun to play, although I don't know exactly how good it is. I play a lot of tribal, and this eats tribal decks for breakfast. I've never seen anything demolish my sliver deck so fast. Goblins and Merfolk also went down in short order. I'm definitely going to have to really build something like this, although I can't consider affording this right now, even without the fancy land it'd be over $100.
I tried to get all 4 "flavors" y'all are juding in here a bit. Vorthros loves playing a 5 color deck. Timmy thinks Crucible of Fire is one of the best cards ever, especially when it affects even your little creatures. Spike enjoys a quick army of big creatures and the ability to pump 'em regularly, and Johnny can't believe how much fun Blades of Velis Vel + Sliver Overlord is.
The Changelings Chameleon Colossus - One of my favorite Changelings, Heartstone helps me out a lot here. There's nothing preventing you from using his ability twice, and there's quite a bit of green mana in the deck to do it with. Ghostly Changeling - Smaller version of Chameleon. There's also plenty of black mana for pumping, and Heartstone really get's it going fast. The inspiration for the deck. Mirror Entity - Nice for attacking, but also good for keeping smaller creatures alive. More than once I used the mirror entity ability to make my creatures 2/2 or 3/3, just to keep a bird of paradise alive. I did check with the rules gurus, and Heartstone does affect the Mirror Entity as long as I pay at least 1. Shapesharer - Good for stealing my opponent's creature abilities. Also, a good way to remove my opponent's legendary creatures. I can make one of my own creatures a copy of theirs, but in a best case scenario Blades of Velis Vel turns their own creature into a Shapeshifter, then I use the Shapesharer's ability to kiill two of their creatures. Not a combo you'll see very often, but very fun when it works. Woodland Changeling - I went through several other creatures, all of which had fun abilities, but when it came down to it I wanted the 2/2 creature for 2CMC more than anything else.
The Creature Support Birds of Paradise - An essential in a 5 color deck. Chosen over Mothdust Changeling for my 1 drop. Sliver Overlord - So much fun. Can search for many of my creatures, can also search for Blades of Velis Vel, which it can then use to turn an opponent's creature into a changeling, and then it can take control of that creature. Such a fun combo. Lets not forget, its a 7/7 creature for 5CMC Reaper King - Boosts all of my changelings, and gives me destroy target permanent abilities? Awesome. Doesnt' require me to actually have WURBG? Even better.
Enchantments/Spells Crucible of Fire - Not nearly as useful as you'd think in a dragon deck, since your creatures are already enormous. Awesome in a changeling deck. Seriously, such an awesome card. Blades of Velis Vel - Does any number of awesome things. Can be used with Sliver Overlord or Shapesharer against my opponent's creatures, or with my own creatures to make them bigger. Played on any of the 3 non-Changelings in the deck, it gives them access to Crucible of Fire's bonus. With Crucible in play, Birds of Paradise becomes a 5/4 flier. Not bad, eh? Oblivion Ring - All around useful card. I do wish it worked on land, but what can you do.
Artifacts Heartstone - Obvious. Affects 5 of my 8 creatures, and is thoroughly useful in each situation. I couldn't justify running 4 of them in a deck this starved for mana though. If Heartstone cost 2 instead of 3 it would be a MUCH better card.
Long story short, I'm hoping this hits on all of the different magic personas, and I think it wins pretty well. I beat a few nontribal decks with it as well, but especially against other tribal stuff you're going to have trouble taking it out.
The idea is to get a heartstone in play to activate ashling or soulbright more easily, or 2 heartstones to go infinite with izzet guildmage and manamorphose, both with mana and card draw.
I got some reconstructs there for the artifacts one discards with thirst and transmute, the one who also works with artifact lands and izzet guildmage!
Once you have infinite mana, you can win with copying lightnings with the guildmage, making a very large ashling, goblin cannon, among others.
2 heartstones to go infinite with izzet guildmage and manamorphose, both with mana and card draw.
Hey that's quite nasty, but I wouldn't go infinite with it since you'll lose for lack of a draw, but you can cast quite the uncounterable Banefire.
You don't even need to wait for two Heartstones to get the ball rolling on the combo, just copy Manamorphose the number of times you need to just draw your second Stone and a second morphose, play them, voilà ! Soulbright Flamekin is really going to help you stay ahead on the mana here, just be sure to keep a couple of U... And cross your fingers that the cards you need aren't all on the bottom 10th of your library :crying:.
Heck, since you draw your entire deck, you could even play Scent of Cinder with, let's say, 12 red cards in hand (12 damage) and then copy it through the mage as many times as you need, perfect for 6 way free-for-all !
Once you have infinite mana, you can win with copying lightnings with the guildmage, making a very large ashling, goblin cannon, among others.
Unfortunately that won't work with Ashling since it says that as soon as it resolves for the third time in the same turn you have to do the effect; it's the same reason you can't go infinite with Soulbright, or am I reading something wrong?...
MAJOR EDIT: or wait a sec... I may have spoken too fast, my brain is starting to catch up...
Can you actually use mana from morphose to copy it through the Guildmage? Seems to me the spell has already resolved and left the stack so not copyable, right??... Let me see; you'd have to spend the first 2 from other sources... Put a morphose on the stack, pay 1U to copy it, copy resolves, you get 2 mana... Ah yes it works; take those 2 to copy the original one still on the stack, let that copy resolve, etc, etc...
Primary and only casual rule: "any rule that is fine for the most part of the playgroup, is a fine rule". So any further thread with: "if somebody uses/does .... in a casual game, is it ethical/ok?", read the answer above.
- Being a "Johnny/Spike" means you like self-torture. You win often in casual, so everybody hates you; you loose often in competitive, so you hate yourself.
Well, now that you mention it, scent of cinder is a good addition, the soulbright can't go infinite, but ashling goes infinite after the third activation.
Maybe I need something to prevent decking.
Edit: Voila! thanks fdtori.

No.
Yes.
Hell, no! at the point you get mana from the original you're in the middle of resolving it and there is like no way to use an activated ability (or play a spell) while something resolves, the first point in time you can spend the mana is right after the original resolved and as part of that put into your grave. (Guile and Hideaway put aside for a moment)
-> You need a 'whopping' 2U(R/G) mana to kick it off.

That's the reason i said 2 heartstones, then you pay UR and you've the original and a copy, the copy resolves, you have U and any other color, you use the U to copy, and you have infinite mana.
Right?
No.
Yes.

That's what I meant. You can spend the mana right after the first copy of morphose resolves, so yes you need 1(R/G) for the first spell, then 1U for the first copy, then get the ball rolling. 4 mana is not that hard to come by, c'mon...

Right?
Yes Infinite mana and draw with 2 Heartsones.
Just infinite draw with 1 Heartstone, hence my point of digging to the second Heartstone and trying to win it all in one shot after that.

either you wrote that wrong, I read it wrong or you don't know how exactly your combo works, what I doubt. Anyways, it's a working combo deck. I'm sry I can't give you advice on what you could play. I'll tell you the ideas I have for the deck when I'm judging.
@ fdtori: whopping was put in ' 's on purpose - [judge-objectivism]the combo curves out perfectly: t2 Guildmage, t3 Stone, t4 go off (with a perfect hand).[/judge-objectivism]
I risk twice red text and tell you btw that there is an edit button *cough* and to the mod reading this: I thought about the report button but it says only for rough cases iIrr.
Congratulations Kiwoli.

But I can't help myself, since I like your deck.
Here's another one: Muddle the Mixture.
It gets ALL your pieces, Izzet Guildmage, Manamorphose, Soulbright Flamekin, Transmute Artifact, Ashling the Pilgrim, Scent of Cinder.
Plus you gain a nice little counterspell if someone wants to ruin your combo...
Right?
That's what I meant. You can spend the mana right after the first copy of morphose resolves, so yes you need 1(R/G) for the first spell, then 1U for the first copy, then get the ball rolling. 4 mana is not that hard to come by, c'mon...
Yes Infinite mana and draw with 2 Heartsones.
Just infinite draw with 1 Heartstone, hence my point of digging to the second Heartstone and trying to win it all in one shot after that.
I'm relatively new to magic, is this just a function of how old the card is or is it actually worth 3CMC to other people?

either you wrote that wrong, I read it wrong or you don't know how exactly your combo works, what I doubt.
