So with the lower power level of the format, find the right win conditions are going to be essential to successful Brawl decks. An obvious place to start testing is probably with the currently available card with the text "you win the game" on them. Approach of the Second Sun, Revel in Riches and Mechanize Production all seem like build around worth experimenting with. Are you playing with these? Are you considering other win conditions? I'm thinking there might be a Paradox Engine and Torment of Hailfire deck out there as well.
The plan was to use Nicol Bolas, God-Pharaoh as the commander to utilise his -4 to shoot for 7 as either a way to knock someone out of the game before I can combo or as an alternate wincon. Animation Module also works as prolferation for Bolas.

Inspiring Statuary helps speed things up so I may as well include some other cheap guys or spells that make treasure.
Any thoughts on this are welcome. Is assembling a 4 card combo too much or do we not know enough about the format yet?
I think assembling artifact based combos will be something you can do. Both Whir of Invention and Inventors’ Fair can tutor up key combo artifacts, and between Scrap Trawler and Workshop Assistant, you can come back from some artifact hate.
You can do some broken things with Paradox Engine and the 5 mana rocks we currently have, as well as draw cards using Azor’s Gateway and Rummaging Goblin. Blue also has 3 draw 3s and a draw X spell, so these could really help you churn through your deck.
Also, I think red may be a necessary support color for access to sweepers. There are 4, including the excellent Star of Extiction.
They aren't truly an infinite combo, but they do let you create a large amount of creatures which can be varying degrees of size at instant speed as a mana dump. Their abilities aren't bad on their own either and they are cheap to cast and colorless.

I was thinking about trying to assemble the Pitiless Plunderer, Defiant Salvager and Animation Module infinite loop alongside Marionette Master or Reckless Fireweaver for the win.

As for the rest of the deck, I will include some general artifact recursion in Scrap Trawler, Workshop Assistant and Scrapheap Scrounger alongside some card draw like Costly Plunder, Pirate's Prize and Reverse Engineer. Merchant's Dockhand, Quicksmith Genius and Contraband Kingpin also help here.
