This is my take on Mazirek for our budget (all cards other than the commander have to be <$1 TCGPlayer market price). It's a deck that aims to use Eldrazi spawn and scion tokens to make the rest of our creatures huge. Other than that rather straightforward path to victory, I've also thrown in Jarad as a rather mana-intensive wincon and some beefy Eldrazi.
I'm thinking of swapping Gaze of Granite for Wave of Vitriol. Resolving a Wave with Mazirek in play can be absolutely crushing, but for some people it feels too much like mass land destruction.
I'm not that sure about the creatures that drain on a death trigger. When they're good, they're awesome, but just as often they barely do anything.
Ideally the deck starts out ramping and producing Eldrazi tokens. Around turn four or five Mazirek comes down, along with something like Smothering Abomination to allow me to start cycling through our deck and build a critical mass for my army. With each creature with a +1/+1 counter on it getting trample off of Tuskguard Captain or Crowned Ceratok I can hopefully start taking chunks out of my opponents while Mer-Ek Nightblade scares off the counter attack. In the end game Breaker of Armies and Decimator of the Provinces can force through the kill.

Some comments on the card choices:
Winding Constrictor and Corpsejack Menace are, as far as I know, the only cards that allow me to add extra +1/+1 counters off of Mazirek. Hardened Scales is sadly not available on a budget. Same with Grave Pact effects, Butcher of Malakir is really our only option.
I'm thinking of swapping Gaze of Granite for Wave of Vitriol. Resolving a Wave with Mazirek in play can be absolutely crushing, but for some people it feels too much like mass land destruction.
