The Jakari's abyss vision reveals that there is nothing unusual going on in the tunnel, although there is a square on the wall at the very edge of the flickering light's illumination. Most people would find the half-buried square in the sand easy to miss.
Beyond the flickering light is a 14' tall opening that leads to a massive convex wall that appears to be turning. Every 30 seconds or so one of the huge paddles attached to the convex wall swooshes by the comparatively small opening, creating a powerful wave.
Kage's shaded eye reveals that Misty, Mr. Plum, Dr. Smalls, Tratorius, and Ryot will be joining him shortly.

Kage waited for the Dr. to get there. When he was there, he directed the Dr.s attention to the square in the floor so that he could make note of it. He then went further into the tunnel.
The square is inscribed with a depiction of a shallow grave dug before a tombstone. Dr. Smalls responds to Ryot, although the water makes it hard to hear.
Dr. Smalls - Don't know! Some sort of submerged water wheel?
Kage reaches the edge of the opening to see that the ceiling of the next room is just above the tips of the paddles, and the floor likewise leaves no wiggle room.

The paddles were about 20' apart at their widest point (right in front of the opening, kinda like a piece of pie only flatter at the tip) and were 30' tall.
The eye gets pushed along as the paddles move it out of sight of the group.
Kage sees that there is an opening in the ceiling a couple dozen feet worth of paddle-pushing in. Another, faster set of paddles whooshes above the opening in the opposite direction.
A while after that it passes by a sliding door in the floor.
A while after that it passes by another ceiling opening like the first.
A while after that it passes by an opening in the wall that appears to be filled with spikes. The spikes extend forward in an attempt to hit the eye, but it is just too close to the paddle. The spikes phase out as the paddle moves past them.
The eye passes by Kage and the cycle begins again.
How did it go ceiling to floor to ceiling again wthout completing a rotation?
Ryot - So, three exits, and death if you are still in there if you don't use them. The other paddles are likely to crush us, so the sliding door is the best shot, but it might be locked and we have limited time....****.

There are two ceiling holes. Also, the ceiling holes are 5' by 15'. Sorry for not stating that earlier. Will edit in more actual talking when I get back (or post again, as the case may be) but feel free to keep discussing/doing stuff.
"There are 8 more squares to find in this section. My bet is we are going to have to find out how to go up as well...Plum, would you test how long your shields hold up to the paddle pressure?"

Mr. Plum nods and quickly places two shields before the oncoming paddle. So, Bane, how strong is a shield spell? In a general sense?
Mr.Plum - I could use my magic to reach the floor door and open it in time. We should send an eye through the ceiling first, I think.
Assuming Kage agrees, using Mr. Plum's force magics to properly position the eye to be pushed through the ceiling opening is a trivial matter. It reveals that the next level of paddles is a rather dull affair with the only interesting thing being another opening in its ceiling

"Sounds like a fine plan." Assuming no one objects, the group will continue to move up through various chambers at each new area having an elephant carry an eye around for a quick scan of more squares. Do we find any?
Using shield spells to slow down the paddles works like a charm, making it much easier for the group to maneuver through the maze of paddles. The extra time lets them check the door in the bottom (it contained a short pit that ended in a square - a hydra) before heading through the top door. After that is the next opening, and the third paddle set has yet another square (this one hidden in a side panel). This latter square is a depiction of a fair maiden wearing a crown.
The group eventually reaches the top and emerges into a massive cylindrical room near a dim flickering light embedded in the floor.
Kage notices that the dark water that fills the room is filled with a hundreds if not thousands of ceramic scaled black pirahnaa that are carefully avoiding the light. The Jakari catches a glimpse of a chained figure floating upside down in the water in the distance. He also notices that there is a hatch in the floor about 60' away.

**Are we on land or in the water still? Not sure from your description.**
"Guys, there are ceramic piranhas in the water that are avoiding the light. There is also a chained figure floating upside down over that way." He gestures. "And a hatch over there."
The piranha swim away in terror when the pellet goes off. The water temporarily clear, Kage sees that there are actually 4 figures chained to some sort of underwater fan in the ceiling, one figure per fan blade. The fan has a hole in center that's just large enough for a square. The fan slowly begins to turn as Dr. Smalls and the others quickly swim towards the hatch. The Dr. summons a globe of light as he motions for everyone to start swimming.
As soon as the globe appears Kage notices that one of the chained figures opens its over-sized many-fanged mouth (the rest of it is hidden by the chains).
