It has come to my attention that a due to some oversight during character approval, in more cases than not people have been giving their characters the wrong type of mage dagger.
The Mage section of the guide clearly says that Mages get the dagger aligned with the art they are focusing on. If you have an arted LSS, you get the dagger for that art.
Taskmages get their choice because they specialize in all arts.
Dualmages can pick from between either of the arts of their spells.
Mages without magical LSSs should pick whatever art they plan on buying the most spells in.
Those with arted LSSs should adjust their dagger to fit this.
Those without Arted LSSs should adjust dagger or their spell buying habits.

So even if the mage has used the dagger of another art you want them to change?
Is there any way for people to trade daggers?
Or what happens when someone steals another mage's dagger?
I have no problem with this and understand it's not really our choice, btw, it just seems that for many concepts some of the other daggers might fit better for the character. For example, Jougo has no need for a force cleaver or for a reforging dagger, but the shadow one fits nicely for him.

Well your dagger is what identifies your mage-type, its arted to match the flavor of the magic you prefer.
If you really want you can trade your mage dagger with another mage if you find one willing to trade.
Okay, I won't make people change their dagger's if they've already used their character. Sound fair? I think out of all the infracters that would only mean Magnus, and the storm dagger is actually made to work well with Electromagnetism anyway.

Alright. For clarity, Magnus is the only mage dagger that needs to be switched and henceforth you must chose your main art as your dagger type until you find someone willing to trade?
Yeah, from now on just use the dagger for your art. Flavorwise it doesn;t make sense for the mages to be handing out plantmage daggers to spiritmages. Not going to make people change, just try to plan future characters accordingly.
