The adventurers all awoke in a damp and dingy cave, locked behind bars alongside at least a dozen dwarf in cramped quarters. There was no place to sleep or sit and no one being in the caged off area had more than a few feet of personal space. While none of the adventurers had any idea how they ended up in this godforsaken place or what it was, a few clues were left. Around each of their wrists was a pair of rope marks, along the walls of the cave were etchings of what seemed to be a face covered by a completely smooth mask which covered the entire face of the wearer, lacking even eye holes. Outside the cage there was a shallow pit, roughly fifty feet in diameter and six feet deep, it seemed to dominate the vast majority of the particular cavern of the cave and was certainly far more space than the prisoners were given. The dwarves locked alongside the Elexia crew didn't seem to have rope burns but did appear just as shaken and terrified as anyone in such a scenario should be. Oddly enough, all of the weapons and pets the slaves had brought with them as free men remained on their persons.
A tall and lean oscaran wearing a a studded leather vest, silver shoulder guard on his right side, a mesh masked steel helmet and wielding a claw grip on each arm entered. He put one of his claw grips against the bars that confined the prisoners and ran down the cage, terrifying those already awake and surely alerting any who were yet to regain consciousness.
With a start, Sling reached down for his pistol. The weapon practically jumped into his hand as he pulled it up and pointed it at the oscaran. The elf squeezed the trigger, launching a distressing bullet of mind magics at their jailer.
**Eizen was disappointed by the lack or rope/manacles to steal later (he could use some of those), but that's life. He studies the various objects that are in the room and on the dwarves, letting Sling test the defenses of the jailer for him.**
Akane awoke a few moments before the verbal call to do so. She took that time to scoot closer to Jougo and cuddle into him, grinning to herself. Then, at the guard's words, she looked genuinely confused. "Mistah J," she whispered, moving his arm to awaken him. "Ain't we feline?" she asked, looking concerned, as though perhaps they had somehow been transformed into dogs while sleeping. Oh the horror!
Jougo, being woken in the usual fashion by Akane, grabbed her face and pushed her away from him with a mumbled:
Huh? What? Yes we are felines... Now be quiet, I have to think.
**Atropos awoke but when he opened his eyes he saw only darkness. For a moment he feared he'd been blinded, but then realized Bob was laying unconscious on his face.
He shook the badger off, and went for his weapons, assuming they were still there.**

The bullet hit the jailer in the shoulder, creating a small gaping wound and drawing blood, he rubbed his finger over the hole and licked off some of the blood before bursting out in maniacal laughter. As he calmed down the oscaran thrust his claw grip into an opening between two of the bars. The dwarves seemed terrified and confused, there were no indications they wanted to be there anymore than Jabril's crew. All of Atroops weapons were present. The caged area had literally nothing in it, not even a bowl of water or the proverbial pot to piss in.
Oscaran– Ha! Glad to see one of you currs has some stones on you!
Suddenly a deep and calm voice cried out from down the cave, seeming to emanate from another cavern, an old man with a long grey beard wearing nothing more than a flowing sky blue robe that went from neck to feet entered. He had a gold necklace with the same faceless mask emblem seen on the walls on its end. As he reached the bars, the man cast a force shield over himself, noticing his comrades bullet wound, the oscaran seemed to step back and silence himself.
Mage– Please excuse my friends ill temper, he finds that building himself into a constant state of frenzy best helps him to train for Ascension. My name is Alexander, I'm sure you have many questions.
**Atropos pulled his pepperbox and leveled it at the oscaran's head as he addressed the voice at full volume, genuine rage entering his voice for the first time in a long time.**
Atropos - You know we do, and you already know what they are. To act otherwise is disingenuous and insulting. Stop toying with us and tell us where we are and why we are here!

**For his part, Eldaréon had lain there motionless in a slow fuming rage... which was close to tipping point. He stirred when all of the shots and voices rang through their cell.
The warrior assessed the situation with a quick, well practiced eye for detail; he measured his chances of reaching and stabbing their oscaran jailer with his spear.**
Golan, slightly put out by this turn of events, sulked in as close to a corner as he could get. It's very embarrassing to be poisoned and sold into slavery on a first date.

As the pistol was raised, Alexander cast sooth on Atroops and sent a force shield over his oscaran comrades faith, before waiving at him to back off, an order the warrior promptly obeyed.
Alexander– You have all been selected to aid in paying tribute to the great god Magni in honor of his Ascension into the pantheon of deities following his heroic feats many years ago today. Most of those commencing in the celebration with you do so willingly, with the honor of pleasing Magni well worth the risk it entails. You may not realize it from where your vantage point but all of you are uniquely gifted with the opportunity to participate in this holiest of ceremonies. I will not lie to you, the next three days will be brutal and test all of your skills but the reward shall be well worth it, an eternity basking in the light of his greatness.
Akane yawned somewhere in the middle of Alexander's speech. Something about something was all she got. "Blah, blah, blah," she said with yawned. Then she leaned over to lay on Jougo slightly, looking up at him with a worshiping gaze. She just knew he had a plan of some sorts so why bother listening to the whacko?

Alexander smirked as Atroops requested his freedom.
Alexander– Friend, look around you, do you thing any of your crew or the dwarfs came here willingly? That they wish to stay? When we find outsiders for this event, they always begin in resistance, not knowing what true power or glory is. All I can promise you is that these bars are for your safety, not mine. You would starve to death before finding a way out of these caverns and our numbers are well over fifty, each fully armed and devoted to the art of war, including several of your own people.
Oh great, of all the jobs I take, I end up on the one with people who are crazier than I am...somehow...they also probably won't get any of his jokes. What a sad day.
He frowns.
Akane, give me some dyes when they leave. I wanna have some fun...
He whispered under the conversation into her ear.
Daréon - It's always amusing to hear courage in ones words when they are spoken from the other side of a cage. Hear me, mage, before our time is done here I will look down on your corpse and smile.

"Of course, puddin'!" she replied to Jougo's request, quietly for only him to hear. Then Akane looked to Daréon and gave a small squeal of glee. "My hero!" she said with a dreamy smile, not at all sarcastic. And quite looking forward to such a murder!
Daréon...he would be fun to watch.
hehehehe. Hehehehe. HEHEHEHEHEHE!
The jester seems to have found something incredibly entertaining, or he has snapped the last strand of sanity he held. Who knew?
Alexander eyed the defiant spearman, he called out something in a foreign tounge and two large warriors appeared, one in full plate armor with a large axe across his back, the other a slender jakari wearing light leather armor over his entire body, throwing knives lacing each wrist.
Alexander– Child, each of these men alone could kill you and all of your friends single handedly and together they are no match for me. You know not who you speak to. They have proven themselves in the Ascension numerous times, as have I. The need for outsiders is partly a recruiting technique but mostly because his greatness thirsts for blood.
**Eldaréon eyed all three stoically, without so much as a blink, a murderous glare which caused his entire frame to shake overtook him.**
Daréon - And you know not to whom you speak: For I am Eldaréon Cú Culainn, son of Glorëindil; and no child of yours Son of the West. Mark my face, for you shall get your chance to close it's eyes ere long this is over.
