basically, the idea is to find ad nauseum bring your life low, then use artifacts and time seive to give you extra turns while beating with a large death's shadow.
i haven't gotten a chance to test it and would like some ideas

Death's Shadow + Ad Nauseam is a great idea! The only thing is, you will want to draw into some answers, including ways of protecting the Death's Shadow, ways of pushing its damage through (evasion), and perhaps an alternate way to win (even something like running Sign In Blood, to use on your opponent if they get below 3 life.). All in all, a great idea!
i'm thinking of splashing white for sunspring expedition so that you have enought life to make ad nauseum relevent and for path to protect early game.
only problem with sign in blood is that it deals 2 damage to you plus to use it its 2 life for 2 cards early game so it doesn't do anyhting better than ad nauseum

You can use Sign in Blood early game to draw into your combo, and late game you can target your opponent to burn them for the last 2 damage after you combo out.

What builds have you played against? I'd imagine that rdw would wreck this deck because you speed them up so much. You have to live until turn 5 for ad nauseam and then you probably won't have enough health to draw a bunch of cards.
In my opinion, spidersilk net will outperform bonesaw because it'll help protect ornithopter until ad nauseam comes out.
Look at the card. Now back to Jace. Now back to that card, now back to Jace! Sadly, it isn't Jace, but if it stopped being a junk rare and became relevant, it could act like it's Jace. Crack some Worldwake. What do you have? You have a Jace, the card you wish this card could be like. Look again. THE CARD IS NOW A $75 BILL. Anything possible when you play Magic with Jace and not junk rares. This is probably spam.
RDW does suck, because they probly have a lightning bolt in hand to kill you after nauseum...
i played vamps, jund and eldrazi and rocked them all. i've gone 2-1 v jund, 2-0 v green, and 4-0 vs vamps.
Basically, the rogue decks i faced for some reason all packed negate, or instant speed large damage(valakut)

Death's Shadow is complete and total ☺☺☺☺. Beyond that, Spellbook? Time Sieve? Orni-freaking-thopter? This half-baked combo wannabe is just falling all over itself, and it's making me a sad panda.
Just play Paths, Earthquakes, Burst Lightning, Lightning Bolt, Steppe Lynx, Duress, sideboard those Needles, and get back to playing a somewhat reasonable control game.
Ad Nauseam is not a combo card in this format. It just isn't. It's a bigger, (rarely) better Sign in Blood. You may aswell use it as such.
Giving infractions to otherwise sensible posters for flaming makes me a sad panda.

That's like saying it's bad to play Day of Judgment in a deck with creatures. It's just a matter of playing around it. You don't have to crack the Expedition until right before you Ad Nauseam (so you can draw more cards).

Silence + Sunspring + Path seems far too white intensive for a deck that needs to hit BB on turn 5-6, and also wants to splash for blue without the convenience of the full eight fetches to do so.
Necropolis + Sanctum might be passable, but I still don't like it. Silence seems somewhat unnecessary, and I ended up wishing it was more burn every time I powerdrew my way into it.
At any rate, this all hinges on me running Silence as a three-of previously, which defeats its pseudo-Time Walk potential I guess. It couldn't hurt to retest it in place of something else, but I have absolutely no idea what to drop (definately not my Pyroclasms).
Who said "silence+path+sunspring" sunspring seems like a horrible idea, might as well run tendrils, when you play it you'll probably net the same ammout of ''lifegain'' if you factor in the dmg the creature you just killed would have dealt you, DOJ doesn't seem like a bad idea either, seeing as how you're not running any removal, ever consider glaze fiend as an alternate beat stick? I dunno, just trying to do some constructive brainstorming, even though I'd never run a deck built like this in the current format

I know it's a different deck by leaps and bounds, but I figure if I'm going to offer up my criticism, I may aswell support it. Ad Nauseam is control drawing power in this format, not a combo engine, annnd I use(d) it as such!
Ponder kept turning into Ior Ruin Expedition here and there, but I found it unnecessary over time, and the blue splash really turned me off (though I kept it, as Controlled Instincts is my pet tech).
^^ Interesting decklist, could use a 1 or 2 of Reliquary Tower to get those super draws more awesome.
Had one, but ditched it when I found I had pretty much nothing to spend the colorless mana on. As I was getting it post-Ad Nauseam more often than not, it seemed a bit pointless.
I have been toying with an Ad Nauseam/Death's Shadow deck for about a week now...the idea is to use low CC cards, draw your deck and then play a Bushwhacker and 2 to 3 Death's Shadows. If you can draw the right stuff (Duress away removal, etc.) it can be brutal.
The KEY to this deck is to PROTECT YOUR LIFE and not to get too casual with battle damage, etc. Life is the key to this deck, as it is your only fuel to draw with Ad Nauseam.
This is roughly the list. Any help/testing would be greatly appreciated.
I have been toying with an Ad Nauseam/Death's Shadow deck for about a week now...
You either have mad Yu-Gi-Oh! topdeck luck, or you die. Even five damage would all-but guarantee you never see the beaters/burn necessary to pull a game out, with the card choices you have made.
You aren't really using your life total as a resource, you just seem content to burn it away instead. Disfigure is very, very narrow; a full set of Earthquake is suicide against any deck you actually play it against; a single opposing Baneslayer sets you back 3+ turns after you waste a pair of burn spells to shoot it down (unless you were lucky enough to be holding a Terminate at the time, though you probably spent that on the Thoctar that came down post-cascade the turn before anyway); and your tapland count ensures that even if you DO draw into Ad Nauseam, you wont even be able to cast it until turn six or seven with any degree of regularity.
White is my catch-all: Path to Exile is my Terminate. Harm's Way is my Disfigure, Sunspring Expedition is my Spellbook (with regards to filler cogs to facilitate the drawing engine). Pyroclasm and Agony Warp are my beatsticks, ultimately giving me a 6-10 point damage swing by the time their effect is measurable.
Splashing blue is less relevant, but is still fairly easily done. Ponder on its own gives me the ability to play Ad Nauseam in any count less than four, and still see it often. Ponder gives me the opportunity to shuffle down any duplicate Ad Nauseam on the top of my deck before I go off on turn five, six, seven, eight, nine...
It's those subtle touches that allow my deck to play out as intended, rather than killing myself seven times over in an effort to seem trendy. It's that degree of finality that allows me to cast a spell that can very well kill me, and know that I'll probably be better off for it.
My final statement on Death's Shadow (and more recently, Bushwhacker) in this deck:

just like in every other format, ad nauseum still works for combo. basically is your idea of using ad nauseum ad nauseum fetch your life down, attempt to keep your life up relativly high to draw a bunch of things turn 5-6 and drop your life down low and try to burn through your opponent before they kill you by attacking with 1 creature? i mean really, im not some big expert protour player but that really sounds like a total crap game plan. also how do exspect to cast any thing with a crap mana base for 4 colors?

my build which you were so quick to bash, takes 2-3 extra turns after casting ad nauseum denying opponents the ability to kill me and allowing me the chance to path there creatures, getting rid of the need for evasion, besides the fact that many times, most of there creatures are tapped from attacking most times than not. RDW is just about the only deck that might be able to instant burn for enough damage to kill you on your own turn so....
what planet do you live on? even for facilitating a draw engine what the hell do ither of these have to do with each other? they don't do any thing the same. one gains life the other stops you from discarding down to seven....where i come from those aren't interchangable

...if you can't win a game on MWS, odds are you're just horrid with the deck itself. That version is pre-WWK, and has yielded plenty of successful results. The mana base is actually quite stable, so I'm not sure how much I should even put into a reply that is more likely fabricated than anything else.
EDIT: After re-reading your take on the gameplan, I can now confirm that you are simply horrid with the deck itself. You're playing my version like your jank combo wannabe, and that's my fault? Play it with half a brain, and you'll see results.

Aside from the part where you're dead the moment it ever hits that type of P/T, right? Every single deck in the format can either swing through your overhyped jank, or burn you out by the time you reel off an Ad Nauseam, and play out two or three evasionless "beatsticks" that only do their job when you're dead.
I get that you're all zomgoffended that I questioned the entire premise of your deck, but it doesn't work in this format. At all. I'm sorry if you can't come to terms with that, and instead feel the need to play uberspike in some feeble attempt to push the credibility of a deck that wont get the job done even when the pieces are legal.

care to explain your game plan for your deck then? i dont see anything to deal any damage besides lightning bolt and burst lightning, which assuming you find every single one of them is 23, meaning you must find almost every single one of them and not use and of them on creatures. harm's way is conditional and earthquake cant do anything without killing yourself. it seems like your idea would be btter served just cutting black and playing heavy blue draw. but your obviously right and im obviouly missing something, so please enlighten me O'great one

you sort of just said everything about my deck is bad and yours is just better with nothing to support it. if you really think my deck doesn't work becasue your caught in this anticombo mentality even when using a card that has already proved to work other times, i can up load some game logs when i do more testing tonight.
also, the problem with swinging through after i've used A.N. for the build that im testing, is my opponent doesnt get another turn....they can't swing...unless theres a way to attack during your opponents turn that im unaware of. care to fill me in?

This is how I usually play it:
Stall with cheap creatures/sweeps.
Play/tutor for Crypt of Agadeem.
Play/tutor for Tainted Sigil.
Play/tutor for Sanguine Bond.
Play/tutor for Ad Nauseam; draw/reveal/put in hand as many cards as you can "safely" - meaning keep yourself out from lethal burn range. Discard excess cards (preferably the cheap creatures) and keep kill spells (Consume Spirit)
Play kill spells, pump using Crypt of Agadeem's mana.
No sideboard yet. Testing other sweepers for the fast creature decks like Infest and Zealous Persecution. Also testing BSA, Liliana Vess and Sorin Markov as alternate finishers.

only problem with sign in blood is that it deals 2 damage to you plus to use it its 2 life for 2 cards early game so it doesn't do anyhting better than ad nauseum

You can use Sign in Blood early game to draw into your combo, and late game you can target your opponent to burn them for the last 2 damage after you combo out.
i've been impressed with the results. i only seem to die to bad draws or conrol builds.

i played vamps, jund and eldrazi and rocked them all. i've gone 2-1 v jund, 2-0 v green, and 4-0 vs vamps.
Basically, the rogue decks i faced for some reason all packed negate, or instant speed large damage(valakut)

Just play Paths, Earthquakes, Burst Lightning, Lightning Bolt, Steppe Lynx, Duress, sideboard those Needles, and get back to playing a somewhat reasonable control game.
Ad Nauseam is not a combo card in this format. It just isn't. It's a bigger, (rarely) better Sign in Blood. You may aswell use it as such.
Giving infractions to otherwise sensible posters for flaming makes me a sad panda.
Or... you know... just playing the best removal in the format (which also happens to cost a mere one white mana).

Sunspring Expedition is here to be sure, but not next to Death's Shadow. That is one of the worst combinations I think I've ever seen, short of the guy insisting he had to run four Phage in his Dramatic Entrance deck.
That's like saying it's bad to play Day of Judgment in a deck with creatures. It's just a matter of playing around it. You don't have to crack the Expedition until right before you Ad Nauseam (so you can draw more cards).
It wont bring the game back from the brink, and it damn sure wont be anything more than the most basic example of a win-more out there in the game today. You may aswell be running Rite of Consumption next to Progenitus, at this point.
or run both, you know, common sense

Silence + Sunspring + Path seems far too white intensive for a deck that needs to hit BB on turn 5-6, and also wants to splash for blue without the convenience of the full eight fetches to do so.
Necropolis + Sanctum might be passable, but I still don't like it. Silence seems somewhat unnecessary, and I ended up wishing it was more burn every time I powerdrew my way into it.
At any rate, this all hinges on me running Silence as a three-of previously, which defeats its pseudo-Time Walk potential I guess. It couldn't hurt to retest it in place of something else, but I have absolutely no idea what to drop (definately not my Pyroclasms).

Harm's Way was great there, and it took the spot you're suggesting Silence would, but I guess whatever works!
I know it's a different deck by leaps and bounds, but I figure if I'm going to offer up my criticism, I may aswell support it. Ad Nauseam is control drawing power in this format, not a combo engine, annnd I use(d) it as such!
Ponder kept turning into Ior Ruin Expedition here and there, but I found it unnecessary over time, and the blue splash really turned me off (though I kept it, as Controlled Instincts is my pet tech).
Had one, but ditched it when I found I had pretty much nothing to spend the colorless mana on. As I was getting it post-Ad Nauseam more often than not, it seemed a bit pointless.
The KEY to this deck is to PROTECT YOUR LIFE and not to get too casual with battle damage, etc. Life is the key to this deck, as it is your only fuel to draw with Ad Nauseam.
This is roughly the list. Any help/testing would be greatly appreciated.
You either have mad Yu-Gi-Oh! topdeck luck, or you die. Even five damage would all-but guarantee you never see the beaters/burn necessary to pull a game out, with the card choices you have made.
You aren't really using your life total as a resource, you just seem content to burn it away instead. Disfigure is very, very narrow; a full set of Earthquake is suicide against any deck you actually play it against; a single opposing Baneslayer sets you back 3+ turns after you waste a pair of burn spells to shoot it down (unless you were lucky enough to be holding a Terminate at the time, though you probably spent that on the Thoctar that came down post-cascade the turn before anyway); and your tapland count ensures that even if you DO draw into Ad Nauseam, you wont even be able to cast it until turn six or seven with any degree of regularity.
White is my catch-all: Path to Exile is my Terminate. Harm's Way is my Disfigure, Sunspring Expedition is my Spellbook (with regards to filler cogs to facilitate the drawing engine). Pyroclasm and Agony Warp are my beatsticks, ultimately giving me a 6-10 point damage swing by the time their effect is measurable.
Splashing blue is less relevant, but is still fairly easily done. Ponder on its own gives me the ability to play Ad Nauseam in any count less than four, and still see it often. Ponder gives me the opportunity to shuffle down any duplicate Ad Nauseam on the top of my deck before I go off on turn five, six, seven, eight, nine...
It's those subtle touches that allow my deck to play out as intended, rather than killing myself seven times over in an effort to seem trendy. It's that degree of finality that allows me to cast a spell that can very well kill me, and know that I'll probably be better off for it.
My final statement on Death's Shadow (and more recently, Bushwhacker) in this deck:
When you rely on four unreliable, easily removed, evasionless threats to win games for you, that's bad. When you do so after intentionally putting yourself into the red in a format where even White Weenie can burn you for two, that's even worse. The fact that none of those creatures even matter until AFTER you've played your first Ad Nauseam... well, that pretty much seals the deal, no?
...and no, as cute as it seems, you will never win on the back of a Death's Shadow that randomly pounded its way through against an opposing board that battered you enough to make said one-drop worth casting. Not unless your opponent lucked out with his Bottle Gnomes or Grizzly Bears in Herbal Poultice.dek, anyway.

just like in every other format, ad nauseum still works for combo. basically is your idea of using ad nauseum ad nauseum fetch your life down, attempt to keep your life up relativly high to draw a bunch of things turn 5-6 and drop your life down low and try to burn through your opponent before they kill you by attacking with 1 creature? i mean really, im not some big expert protour player but that really sounds like a total crap game plan. also how do exspect to cast any thing with a crap mana base for 4 colors?
honestly there not much to call cute about a 8/8-12/12 for 1 black.
my build which you were so quick to bash, takes 2-3 extra turns after casting ad nauseum denying opponents the ability to kill me and allowing me the chance to path there creatures, getting rid of the need for evasion, besides the fact that many times, most of there creatures are tapped from attacking most times than not. RDW is just about the only deck that might be able to instant burn for enough damage to kill you on your own turn so....

...if you can't win a game on MWS, odds are you're just horrid with the deck itself. That version is pre-WWK, and has yielded plenty of successful results. The mana base is actually quite stable, so I'm not sure how much I should even put into a reply that is more likely fabricated than anything else.
EDIT: After re-reading your take on the gameplan, I can now confirm that you are simply horrid with the deck itself. You're playing my version like your jank combo wannabe, and that's my fault? Play it with half a brain, and you'll see results.
Ditto, as you missed the mark on your analysis by quite a large margin.
Aside from the part where you're dead the moment it ever hits that type of P/T, right? Every single deck in the format can either swing through your overhyped jank, or burn you out by the time you reel off an Ad Nauseam, and play out two or three evasionless "beatsticks" that only do their job when you're dead.
I get that you're all zomgoffended that I questioned the entire premise of your deck, but it doesn't work in this format. At all. I'm sorry if you can't come to terms with that, and instead feel the need to play uberspike in some feeble attempt to push the credibility of a deck that wont get the job done even when the pieces are legal.
Good luck to you at any rate. It would appear you'll need it with the mentality you bring to the table.

you sort of just said everything about my deck is bad and yours is just better with nothing to support it. if you really think my deck doesn't work becasue your caught in this anticombo mentality even when using a card that has already proved to work other times, i can up load some game logs when i do more testing tonight.
also, the problem with swinging through after i've used A.N. for the build that im testing, is my opponent doesnt get another turn....they can't swing...unless theres a way to attack during your opponents turn that im unaware of. care to fill me in?

This is how I usually play it:
Stall with cheap creatures/sweeps.
Play/tutor for Crypt of Agadeem.
Play/tutor for Tainted Sigil.
Play/tutor for Sanguine Bond.
Play/tutor for Ad Nauseam; draw/reveal/put in hand as many cards as you can "safely" - meaning keep yourself out from lethal burn range. Discard excess cards (preferably the cheap creatures) and keep kill spells (Consume Spirit)
Play kill spells, pump using Crypt of Agadeem's mana.
No sideboard yet. Testing other sweepers for the fast creature decks like Infest and Zealous Persecution. Also testing BSA, Liliana Vess and Sorin Markov as alternate finishers.
