The focus of this deck is to keep the board clean, and lay down efficient beats. It utilizes some of the most mana efficient creatures possible (Crusher, Mauler, Serra Avenger, Mogg Fanatic), while Brion gives some recovery from aggo pressure and gives late game lethal spike.
The removal suite is composed of a lot of burn (4 mogg fanatic, 4 incinerate, 4 lash out), and 3 oblivion ring to handle anything outside of 3 point burn range. The burn is not really intended for the face. It's to remove creatures until I drop mine, or remove something that could block. I'm kind of torn between Tarfire and Lash out, but I'm leaning towards lash out because there are so many 3 toughness creatures. If I win the clash then great. If not then oh well. Sulferous blast is played either before a Serra is dropped or after my crusher/maulers get larger.
Mind stone gives the possibility of some mana accel as a 2 or 3 drop (turn 3 mind stone, tap mind stone and 3rd land for an incinerate), and gives me a tiny bit of draw when it's no longer needed. I'm not totally set on mind stone. I must sheepishly admit I partially want to play it to show off the set of 4 foil DCI ones I completed. Fantastic art.
I am thinking about replacing Mind Stone with 4 Aether Membrane for tempo advantage. It can block anything short of a deathtoucher and give some tempo advantage with free bounce every turn, and could allow me to save a little burn while my creatures grow. I know a lot of people hate anything with defender, but a lot of people will hold off an attack completely rather than having a guy bounced every turn, giving me more time to come up with a sulferous blast or dominant creatures.
No sideboard yet. It will be easy to put one together based on my meta.
