I've been out of Standard for awhile now. I thought I might as well try one more time and get in some play with one of my favorite cards ever, Lotleth Troll.
The pile of cards that I pulled out to make the deck out of is most likely utter jank, but here it is. This comes from about 15 minutes of searching through cardboxes and brainstorming.
Okay, yeah. I went for something kind of aggro-ish but honestly, I'm not sure I like it. I'm also not sure I like putting a spin of scavenge on this deck, but meh.
I really just don't know what cards a graveyard/aggro-midrange deck like this would use these days. Help me out? I'd like more Theros, as it's looking like a RTR block deck, but the only Theros cards I could think of that would be okay in here are Nighthowler and whatever that one card that killed black creatures was for the sideboard.
The problem I had was... Scavenge is counter intuitive to what jarad and nemesis want. So you have to make sure to take the steps in order to get it to work properly. Possibly why I didn't include nighthowler in my build.
Pack Rat is a pretty interesting card in this deck. Great for pitching cards to. Nighthowler is really useful here with its synergy with Lotleth Troll. Just make sure you don't get blown out by Azorius Charm. If your mana curve allows it adding some Reaper Of The Wilds really helps, it's a great scavenge/NH target.
If you want to go the Scavenge/aggro route, which I prefer due to it being able to bounce back from board wipes and overwhelm 1 for 1 removal, I suggest Brushstrider. I like your inclusion of Scrivener, though it's often a dead card. Exiling guys may shrink nighthowler, but usually it's to add 2+ power to the guy you scavenged onto, so it's an overall improvement unless you've got multiple NHs or the GY is empty xP
As far as dragons are concerned, doesn't Niv Mizzet semi-regularly make idiotic clone dragons so the people of Ravnica can see how amazing he is in comparison?

Help is definitely needed, thanks!

Dreg mangler is underwhelming, cause often you pitch it, but lack the excess mana to scavenge it consistently.
I've heard valroz is great... If he sticks. With today's meta, huge if.
I don't understand the grisly salvage because of that. It's only good if valroz sticks. Otherwise potentially bad.
Eh, im getting too close to dredge at this point. anyway, food for thought.
Some draw? Read the bones? Underworld connections?
A friend ran a simular style of deck useing pack rat insted of the troll
