tbh if you're actually looking to optimise this kind of deck, Laboratory Maniac is a better wincon.

Add any mono blue instant speed infinite mana combo and you don' need Vorel or Gilder. Some of my favourites are Dramatic Reversal + Isochron Scepter + sufficient mana rocks, or Deadeye Navigator + Peregrine Drake, or Grand Architect + Pili-Pala.

Alternatively, use a Bant defensive enchantments package like Privileged Position, Sphere of Safety,Ghostly Prison, Greater Auramancy, Propaganda, and things of that nature.
