I was under the impression that in commander, you always run every fetch you can, no matter what. For color fixing yeah, but even in monocolored decks it serves to take cards out of the deck and increase the chances of drawing cards you need. However, I've looked at a few Purphoros, God of the Forge and Godo, Bandit Warlord decks, and neither run Wooded Foothills etc. Given that the decks were over $1000 each, it obviously wasn't for budget reasons. Does anyone know why? Now that I think about it, the decks do run Blood Moon and Magus of the Moon, which would prevent the land from fetching, but instead you could just tap it like a normal mountain so I don't see the issue.
Note, almost the entire manabase was just Mountains (or snow covered mountains in one deck, when they ran Extraplanar Lens). Tho they had the obvious necessities like Ancient Tomb etc.
