Pretty surprised/amazed that MTGS literally doesn't have any games firing, might be the only time I've seen this happen in my 8+ year long career
I mean, not to sound resigned to our fate, but I pretty much predicted this when the site closure almost happened and Nexus split from us.
The site's overall user base is fractured and, well, I don't have direct access to analytics but I can't imagine traffic here is increasing. The last few games only fired because Osie brought some Colosseum folks and I recruited from MU lol.
We simply do not have the active player base to fire games; even discord activity has noticeably decreased in the last few months.
What that means for us as a community is up in the air; we could try to pull it back from the brink with some kind of massive recruiting effort but I'm not sure where we would find a player pool to draw from. I interacted with a lot of players from a lot of communities during the MU Championship spec chat and the general consensus is that our phases are too long for them to want to play with us. (The #2 complaint was the forum software.)
I, uh, I'm looking for ideas I guess. I don't want to just give up but if we don't do something soon the community is going to disappear. I'd rather attempt a migration than let that happen, being honest.
I'm not much of leader or a bringer-together-of-people, I've mainly just been doing my best to hold things together. I don't know where to go from here but doing -nothing- as we've been doing isn't really an option any longer.
