I could see it, maybe in a graveyard based deck, but the triple green kind of shafts it outside of monogreen.
To be fair green is the color best equipped to splash+ for a color and still be able to cast triple-C cards.
True, but you have to lean pretty heavily into black for a graveyard based strategy, and that is considerably more than "a splash" and not conductive to its triple green cost. Such a deck would be unlikely to be competitive in Standard or Modern.

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).
Isn't it weird how much tribal we got in Modern Horizons and now M20? I would think it's because the upcoming set has a big tribal component, but Modern Masters doesn't even affect that, so... Is it just some new approach to make the game more beginner-friendly? I'm not even sure if I like it or not, and this coems from someone who loves tribal. It's just so strange.
MH1 was tribal support for modern. There are a lot of tribal in the format (thanks to among other things Lorwyn/Shadowmoor), and there are a few tier 2 and tier 3 tribal decks in modern that needed a boost (such as Goblins for example).

Honestly you don't need red. Like, you get to add Ulasht, the hate seed to your deck and...maybe Apocalypse Hydra and that's about all I would consider. Hydras should be Simic if anything because you might as well enjoy the full wonders of big mana.
As for the blue cavalier, that card is absolutely blufftastic! Do I want to draw those 2 cards back (please let my guy live) or is the top of my library dead (I benefit if this guy dies)? As both abilities are decent and the body is good, this cavalier may see some actual play.
If Brainstorm play patterns in Legacy are any indication, chances are that the top of your library is dead unless it's a card with Miracle or you shuffled it yourself.
As for the Knight, A brainstorm on a stick which recurs. Again proving that green got shafted hard in this cycle. Can't blame them though, the Titan and the Primoridal were both overpowered.
Latest I've seen in Modern is that Cavalier of Thorns actually provides good value in Modern. Sometimes, you get a nuts tempo boost because the land ETB untapped.
I could see it, maybe in a graveyard based deck, but the triple green kind of shafts it outside of monogreen. While it does potentially gives you a tempo boost, it also shunts a lot of things into the yard and most monogreen decks don't actually use the yard as a resource. Cavalier of Thorns is not a good card compared to the other Cavaliers, at least they are useful in monocolored strategies, in green you have better options for a five drop.
Well, a Hydra tribal legend. To bad it is monogreen instead of Gruul, but it'll do for now.

Rock Hydra and Molten Hydra are both good cards though.
