TNN is completely broken in all non-multiplayer formats because the only way to get rid of it is with mass removal or by forcing a sacrifice in 1vs1. So I sincerely hope it is a joke.

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).
There are plenty of nonrare and downshiftable rares from pre-8th edition that are either utility cards or good cards for not just limited, but also constructed. Such as Deep Analysis (which I don't think will appear, it's a wee bit to powerful for modern), Werebear (much more likely), and Exile (also fairly likely), just to name a few.
I fully expect the commons and uncommons to contain a number of much needed reprints for pauper that would not warp modern, such as Oubliette. I also expect that a few of the commons and uncommons have been culled from the Portal sets, a few of those creatures and sorceries are quite powerful for their cost, and some of them could help certain constructed strategies to reach a higher tier and thus provide for a more varied constructed environment. There are a lot of potential from the early sets of magic for the lower rarities, there are several of the Mirage charms I would not mind seeing again.

Would True-Name Nemesis be ok in Moderm? Curious at the candidates for that spot of the strongest blue card.
No, no it would not. Only two colors can deal with it, and only with mass removal. And since it is likely to be protected with counter magic, it is not going to happen.

Just a quick thought: am I completely fool to see Stoneforge Mystic and the five missing ally colors swords coming with this set? It seems like the perfect fit for them, and a five Mythic Rare Artifact cycle shouldn't be too hard a constraint to overcome. Moreover, if they don't do it here I really don't see another product where to put them, because even the Commander precons would be really, really risky if their power level match the bestones...
As Stoneforge Mystic is already modern legal, it is not going to be in Modern Horizons.
It is not Modern legal, beeing banned from the birth of the format. I know it's a little loophole, but it is technically correct.
In any case, they could release new swords while unbanning SFM and see what it brings to the format...
My point was that it is already in a modern legal set, thus out of contention for Modern Horizons.
Basically, if it has been printed in a standard legal set from 8th edition and forward, then it will not make an appearance. The last standard legal set we can look at for potential reprints is Scourge. And if it is a rare (or sometimes uncommon) card from prior to Mercadian Masques, then we need to be aware of whether or not the card is on the reserved list.
I am just hoping they bring back Banding, because that would be beyond hilarious.

I don’t think they care about keeping old formats “separate” feeling. This product is essentially the formalized death of Legacy. Wizards already did virtually nothing at all to support it and this is their moment to build Modern into a true Legacy ver 2.0 without the pitfalls of the Reserved List.
But the cards in this set would be legal in all Eternal card pools as well. These cards are like Conspiracy and Battlebond but with the addition of Modern to the legality. So it's still support for Legacy and Vintage (and Commander and Pauper, etc.) that simply supports Modern as well.
I actually wouldn't be surprised if the above art is a new eldrazi titan.
You have got to be kidding me
Eldrazis don’t have leaves plus I see eyes and mouth on the human part eldrazis are faceless
That could be gaea
The art seems too vertical to be a creature. It might be a planeswalker. Maybe it's a freaky Tezzeret? Or some other unknown planeswalker from ye olden days.
Based on walkers not printed yet
The only ones that come to mind are the following
Baltrice
Masrath
Tessebik
Are the only candidates the other unprinted have photos and don’t look like that
You’re the third or fourth person to bring up True Name Nemesis, but just a couple of weeks ago (in the Tolarian Community College interview), Gavin Verhey said they never should have printed the card. I don’t think he would say that just before a high profile set is announced that includes it.
I’m a hard “no way” on whether TNN is in this set.
For modern its not a problem. The reason they shouldn't have printed it is that it has a really weird rules text for what can harm it. They wont make more cards like it, but they will reprint it.
I think it is extremely unlikely they'll reprint TNN in a modern legal set for one simple reason, it is incredibly busted compared to modern. Even one puts your opponent on a seven turn clock they can't deal with unless they have mass removal, and if you get out two or three, it is basically game over even faster. It's fine in vintage and legacy because of the extreme powerlevel that those formats already have, and it is fine in multiplayer formats such as commander because it is only a threat to one player, who can usually make a deal to have another player deal with it. But in modern? No, not likely at all.

If Serra is in the set, then the character on the left on the wall from the stream could be Yawgmoth.
Overhyping in 3, 2...
He better not be a Planeswalker.
He'd be a black Artifact Creature - God with indestructible. Nothing else fits the Father of Machines, the Lord of the Wastes, the Ineffable.
As for what I would like to see, Thran Quarry. I know it isn't something big or flashy, but it is *not* on the reserved list, wouldn't break modern, and has *NEVER* been reprinted.

Or it could be any of the following:
Arzakon
Krim
Parcher
Terrent Amese
Thorn
Thomil
Yawden
Or even an entirely new character.
