Hey - It's Jay. Registered to comment. Great work again. Love these theme decks.
Benjameenbear - he doesn't need any help. He crushes our playgroup regularly on his own so keep all your fancy new tech to yourself. Please and Thank you =P
Also for the record, it's a lot more difficult building playable theme decks than Rewind makes it look. I built my own Marvel's Daredevil deck and...well... it's pretty rough.
Rewind - pay no attention to Awaken the Erstwhile. You will forget ever having seen that card. It will be a complete surprise when I rebuild Nath like I've been saying I would do for years now.
Haha. I think that the Thor deck actually looks really good from a gameplay standpoint while also being a total flavor win. And, sadly for you, LordRewind asked for some suggestions on a PM. So I am under solemn obligation to provide advice and suggestions, ha.
Plaguecrafter is also a really good card by itself, so this should probably be an inclusion.
While I'm not NEARLY as well-versed in the Thor and Marvel universe as you are, I think the lack of The Eldest Reborn is probably a sin. Isn't the whole point of Ragnarok movie the fact that Hela, the Eldest child of Odin, is Reborn after his death? For shame, Rewind. For. Shame!
Sword of Feast and Famine looks a lot like the blades that Hela uses when she's fighting. It even pulses with Black and Green colors. Um, total win? It's also a great Commander card
Awaken the Erstwhile is a cool reference to when Hela awakens the Crypt warriors in Ragnarok. It's also absurdly broken with Muldrotha as a general since she can play almost exclusively from the 'yard.
Survival of the Fittest seems to embody Hela's philosophy quite nicely while again being a powerful Magic card.
Krosan Grip is for when Hela destroys Thor's Hammer.
I'm not positive, but I'm sure there's an evil Gorgon somewhere in the Thor comics. If so, then including one of the Vraskas seems like a good way to add card types to the deck and add additional versatility.
What about squeezing in Prime Speaker Vannifar? Again, I'm not terribly familiar with the Thor universe but there's sure to be some evil Elf-like creature that sacrifices other creatures for some nefarious end. Vannifar is also good utility for Muldrotha as a card.
Find // Finality is also pretty evocative of what Hela does in the Ragnarok movie. She picks creatures up from the 'yard or she sits on her throne and orders Death to be distributed.
Priest of Forgotten Gods is pretty thematic. Hela was a forgotten god for a long time and sacrificing useless minions to draw cards and generate mana seems totally in theme for what a villainess would do.
I'm not sure how effective it would be, but Mausoleum Secrets is just DUH. There's a whole cache of mummified super-soldiers under the palace of Odin.
Midnight Reaper seems like a decent choice for a representation of a captain in Hela's undead army while also being a nice way to accrue card advantage.
That's all I got for now. Hopefully it's enough for you to marinate on, comrade.
EDIT: Just saw the Oloro suggestion for Thanos. That is perfect.
Damn it, Rewind, I LOVE this concept. I guess you now HAVE to build Commander decks for other Marvel characters. I mean, doesn't Sedris, the Traitor King look like Thanos AND have an evocative title that conveys what Thanos did to the Universe?
I have to upvote this on principle. Well done, sir.
