So according to Reddit, there were originally 20,000 Mythic Boxes. They stopped the auction at 9,000 sold due to the double shipping issue. If we assume that half of all orders were for 2 boxes (which is how people received double the number of boxes), then 4,500 extra boxes were shipped out by accident. So 9,000 (originally sold) + 4,500 (accidentally shipped) + 1,948 (currently sold) = 15,448 boxes have been shipped out. That leaves 4,552 boxes left to be sold.
Wait, some people got a free box?
Yes. Some people who ordered 2 Mythic Editions, received 2 shipping boxes, each containing 2 Mythic Editions. So they ordered 2, got 2 for free (4 total Mythic Editions).

From what I have seen, people are being sent 2 shipping boxes with identical labels and PO numbers, so they would not be charged for the extra two Mythic Boxes.
They have already made $421,000 (not counting eBay/PayPal fees). Is that a success? I am not sure. It has definitely paid for the yearly salaries of a half dozen or more employees, which is quite nice, although in a company with 600+ Employees, that is probably not a gigantic success.
