and the fun my friend has with his mono green hydra deck, I figured I'd try out a fun version in simic colors!
I know red may add a lot, but I'm more of a blue player myself, and I feel like simic would be a cool take on a cool tribe. It gives something that is hard to come by: fuel to keep playing. Green may have better card draw than say, red or white, but blue gives more than almost any other color (maybe losing to black but ignore that).
Now the only thing I need to START this deck is a commander, and simic offers a few really cool ones in my opinion.
Kruphix, God of Horizons:
A really cool card that allows us to stack up mana for the following turns to make a huge hydra. Has the benefits of being indestructible, and very hard to remove. A solid choice.
Vorel of the Hull Clade:
Doubling my hydras' power and toughness seems cool. Not to mention he's cheap to get out, being only 3 mana!
Currently with the new spoiling of the card

Prime Speaker Zegana:
Drawing cards equal to our biggest hydra sounds fun.
Tatyova, Benthic Druid:
A bit of an oddball for this strategy, she offers us CA and some lifegain for doing what we already want to: ramp!
I'm open to other commanders in simic colors but these are some ideas I was just tossing around in my head. Any thoughts?
