I can't wait until it happens. This'll be the first infinite loop in my cube.
It won't be the first in mine, but it will be the first running cards that are actually worth running on their own. The early drafts of my cube tried to run cute things like Midnight Guard and Presence of Gond, but the odds were so stacked against ever drafting both and getting them together in a game, and they kind of sucked on their own.
Edit: I mean, I guess technically I could have assembled a three color infinite using Juniper Order Ranger, but I usually go 1-2 colors rather than 3 or more.
In draft, I was surprised by how good Azorius Knight-Arbiter and Azorius Skyguard can be - they saved my bacon and won me games that otherwise would have been completely lost. The Knight-Arbiter stopped some decent ground attacks and put them on a clock. And Skyguard was hilarious against five 1/1 flying spirit tokens and a Gateway Sneak. Plus, the first strike blocker was a great deterrent for other attackers.
Unfortunately, I was playing defensively most of my draft, which is what allowed these five and six drops a chance to shine. I don't think they're nearly good enough in cube, where things are a bit more aggressive.
On the other hand, Pteramander performed as expected, even smacking for five a couple times, and I'm happy to have it in my cube.
The cards I like from this set, I really like.
Definitely adding: Pteramander - Promotes spellslinger and works with +1/+1 counters and flyers. Rhythm of the Wild - Fun card, but we'll have see if anyone assembles the infinite with Goblin Bombardment and either Kitchen Finks or Murderous Redcap. Sharktocrab - Aggressive and controlly,, works well with +1/+1 counters.
A few others caught my eye, but we'll see.
Maybe: Sphinx of the Guildpact - Big beefy beater with evasion and some protection. Sunder Shaman - I want to like it, but I just feel Trygon Predator is so much better. Forbidding Spirit - Could get really annoying with blink archetype, but I do run Ghostly Prison, and it hasn't been a problem yet.
Sunder Shaman gives us a large but non-evasive Trygon Predator that unfortunately dies to any one-drop deathtouch chump blocker. It's scary but really needs trample to shine.
Fireblade Artist is nice. Haste, sac outlet, and direct damage. Too bad it's an upkeep trigger - I suppose an activated ability would have been too good.
Okay - Rhythm of the Savages (if that is translated correctly) seems very interesting. 1RG for an enchantment with "Creature spells you control can’t be countered. Nontoken creatures you control have riot."
I could definitely see running that.
The new green enchantment, Wilderness Reclamation is kind of interesting. Don't know that we've ever had a seedborne muse type effect at uncommon? Pretty unique effect, and super powerful in a deck with enough instants/flash.
I think the closest we've had to Seedborn Muse was Quest for Renewal, but that untaps creatures (after jumping through a hoop) instead of lands. Not sure what deck I would want to play Wilderness Reclamation in - maybe UG with counterspells? But it is interesting and essentially refunds its mana cost that turn.
To be fair, I neglected to notice it said "exile" rather than "destroy." If reanimator is a concern, Incongruity's effect is certainly better than Rapid Hybridization - but is it worth and extra 1G? And how often will the difference between exile and destroy matter? Still not keen on it, just wanted to cover my bases.
Incubation is hybrid Commune With Nature - a card that I'm not running myself. Incongruity is another Pongify/Rapid Hybridization that costs three times as much, including forcing a second color, limiting the number of decks it can go in.
It seems the only thing in favor of Incubation//Incongruity is a little flexibility, but you can't even hold it and make the decision at instant speed, as one side is a sorcery. I'm not really a fan.
On the other hand,Rhythm of the Wild, Murderous Redcap, Kitchen Finks, and Goblin Bombardment each are good enough to merit a slot independent of the combo. And if it happens to come together, awesome sauce.
Edit: I mean, I guess technically I could have assembled a three color infinite using Juniper Order Ranger, but I usually go 1-2 colors rather than 3 or more.

Windstorm Drake, on the other hand seems a little too high cmc to me.
