Oh, and I was pretty sure that the NK couldn't be RPS-based because that'd be too much variability for a game, but I postulated that the NK might be something like "when you perform the NK, you ALWAYS win RPS", and then my role was a foil (essentially bulletproof), which is why I polled. I wanted to see if scum might hard-yes or hard-no the idea.
Shadow, glad you can read me so well (I think...at least I'm glad when we're both town). I was pretty sure this was town!Shadow, but not 100%. :/
This was a fantastically enjoyable game, both in mechanics and the players involved. Thanks, everyone, for a good game, and thanks, Tom, for being (as always) an entertaining host.
Shadow and Grape for town mvps; they both worked hard to ensure that the end result was a town win!
I had it down to maybe Ruma but more likely Cether. Won't go into details as to why; just glad I didn't try to make the Cether case before Shadow came in with his jail on Ruma.
@Manasi: Sorry about the scissors. I actually picked scissors N1, but...won even though we drew. It would have been a blast to get neighborized, though.
That's what I was talking about, BTW, Shadow, when I said "if you think you caught me in a lie..." I wondered if you had cottoned to Grape saying he threw paper and it seeming obvious that he lost, which would have made my choice scissors...and then it was obvious that I *didn't* pick scissors based on Manasi's result.
Oh, right. You didn't choose; it was the result of the RPS. Sorry.
*puts on modgaming hat*
So a proposed role that cops if one result, vanilla-izes if another, nothing (I'm guessing?) if a third. I'd say that's possible. If you get the result you want, you learn the alignment. If you don't, it's either nothing or you simplify the game (possibly nerfing scum if you've chosen wisely, possibly nerfing your teammate if not). So...sure. Possible.
*puts on behavioral hat*
Your posts D1 could certainly be interpreted as you trying to avoid the NK, which would match a cop role. Your actual posting/lack of scumhunting would normally point me to you being scum...but it sounds like your standard meta is to act that way, so I don't know how much that throws things out of whack.
You almost certainly have to be sorted before mylo, though. I feel like it's still a good idea to lynch you and hope it ends the game.
I can think of one other possibility for why we didn't have a kill last Night, and it pertains to my ability, but it's prooooooobably unlikely? Like, I don't *think* that Tom would set the game up like this, and even if he would have, he wouldn't have with a doc/bodyguard + jailer? On the off chance that that's the reason there was no kill, though, I'd rather not claim.
Town cop/vanillaizer/nothing feels like poor game design. The number of times that town wants to vanillaize over cop, especially in a micro, are very very few. Still fine with a Ruma lynch, especially with the "I tried to vanillaize you...oh, that wasn't enough to save me I'm also a cop!" slowroll.

I'm happy to let Cantrip do his own thing and be exempt from that.
This is probably a good idea. Just treat me like I'm not even playing the subgame.
As far as pie goes, key lime is >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> then strawberry rubarb >>>> rubarb >>> just about anything else.
I'm pretty close to just moving forward without Ruma. That's going to suck, but meh.
@Manasi: I mean this with all sincerity and friendliness: don't bother. It really isn't worth the effort. Promise.
How dare you.
I dare because I care.
But seriously: not because I fear the effort to be clever will produce too much strain or anything; rather because there are (much) more important things to do. Like tracking Ruma down irl and ear-flicking him in the direction of a connected device...
So to make sure I'm understanding correctly we are waiting on Ruma to claim what he chose last night (as in Rock, Paper, or Scissors)?
I just want to hear from him in general, see if he has any results, info, explanations for lack of NK, etc. I have one possible mechanical idea (I'd say...35%-65% possible-unlikely) as to why we didn't have a NK, and one other possibility (probably more like 50%-50%) as to why there was no NK, but nothing certain. If Ruma has a strongly likely explanation or anything like a cop result, I'd like to hear that before getting into the weeds of my situation.
We're also waiting to hear if him or Cether will claim what they threw last Night, in accordance with Shadow's request.

(If this is scum!Shadow capitalizing on Ruma's absence, I'm going to be sooooooooo mad. )
Vote Ruma
Yeah, we should lynch Ruma.
@Manasi: If Ruma isn't scum, DON'T target me toNight. There are way better targets!!!

I really want to move forward, but it feels ill-advised to do so without at least hearing from Ruma.
We're also waiting to hear if him or Cether will claim what they threw last Night, in accordance with Shadow's request.
