I play 3 dragonskull summits for budget reason and they are totally fine in my opinion. I played the deck for more than 1 year on tournaments and had only 1 time where I had to mulligan because of dragonskull summit being no blackcleave cliffs. They are even better when playing on turn (e.g.) 6 followed up by a reveler...
Anyone else find lightning helix to be clunky? Lots of situations with 3 lands, a young pyromancer and a helix in hand. Feels bad. But burn is already a bad matchup.
I feel the opposite. I am often amazed how my two helixes win me games. They never feel really bad.. don't know why but I really love them^^
Had my second fnm win against tron (in a row) yesterday Fast YP army + Bloodmoon / Alpinemoone were always key.
Had my first "official" win ever against Tron last FNM...
Game 1
I have a fast start with 2xPyromancer, he has Tron on T5, which is one Turn to late.
Game 2
Tron does Tron things
Game 3
I draw my complete sideboard and have literally all the answers (2x Wear/Tear, 2x Alpine Moon, 1x Pithing Needle).
- An early Alpine Moon
- K-Command against his T3 O-Stone
- Bolt + Helix against his T5 Thragtusk
- Wear/Tear + Removal + Removal against Wurmcoil 1
- Pithing Needle Against the following Ugin
- Dreadbore + Removal + Removal against Wurmcoil 2
You also can consider boarding in wear/tear since it hits Aether Vial and some Spirit players board in Worship against us which we cannot beat except for brutalities live drain...
I played a lot against spirits lately... Bant spirits is a bad matchup. You need to hope that the bant player does not have a good start. After boarding you can hope thta he keeps a hand full of sideboard cards which usually dont hurt you as much as their usual spirit cards. UW seems slightly more winnable.
In my last tournament I managed to draw against UW spirits. In one game my opponent spellquellerd my removal that was targeting his first queller and after I killed this second queller, I got a chain-reaction to win the game
Not yet, but I thought about it. As flex spots I could cut 1 or 2 Manamorphose and a terminate/dreadbore for them i guess.
I am also interested in the new ravnica set since there will be rakdos and orzhov as a guild... maybe we also get a assasins trophy power level spell in our colors
This!

Never felt so lucky^^
