I’m working on a way to upload images, resize and crop in the future. Until then, you’ll need to edit the image and host it somewhere beforehand. (Imgur is great at this. 627 x 459 is the ideal image size.)
I’ve since added planeswalkers, custom set symbols, tokens, promo cards, faux foils, updated legendary frames and flavor bar, energy symbols, and some DFCs with more coming soon. I have fixed a litany of bugs and significantly improved rendering performance. I’ve added Cockatrice exporting and Planesculptor exporting, the latter of which allows you to draft your own custom sets with others online.
Despite all this, I’m busy working on a UI and engine re-write, and will be dropping the beta tag sometime later this year. Sagas, Eldrazi support, full art lands, the remaining DFCs and an MSE import feature are all planned ahead.
I have been slowly adding in features to the renderer and the site. I still consider things in Beta — I am missing some card types, such as Planewalkers and some colorshifted/night templates, but if you’d like to give it a spin, feel free.
I’ve been working on MTG.Design, a site for creating and sharing custom cards. The site is fully usable and currently in beta.
The hope is this will be much better than other quick-and-dirty web-based offerings, and be a suitable alternative to MSE. The focus here is quality. I’m using LaTeX to render text on the backend, which will mean much better and accurate typesetting. I also have access to some very nice templates which should truly make your custom cards shine!
There are still several features I am working on, including planeswalkers, double-face cards, custom expaansion symbols and fixing some minor rendering issues, and performance. (Typical stuff you might expect.)
If you have questions, comments or feedback, let me know. Thanks!
