I am a HUUUUGE Three Stooges fan! My Saturday mornings as a kid would start w/ Little Rascals, go into Popeye, then typical Saturday morning cartoons, then an hour of Three Stooges, then The Munsters.
The other reference in the name comes from the Farrelly Brothers classic comedy "Kingpin" in which the line "I otta stooge slap you" was uttered by Sea Bass (played by the baseball player Roger Clemmens). It just stuck in my head (like a "stooge slap" lol...).
