i've been taking a good hard look at eerie interlude and i feel like it may have a home in the deck. has anyone played with it?
plays around sweepers, can be used against spot removal, replenishes any scions from spawners and drowners, blinks tks (especially if you have multiple!) i'm running a mulldrifter and a kitchen finks some of you are running a thragtusk and it works with all of those...
may try replacing warping wail in my deck, thoughts?
Instead of mulldrifter.. why not use a simple wall of omens that help a LOT against any linear agro?
my reasoning:
mulldrifter gets 2 cards when needed for u2 can be blinked for 4 cards for 6 and is a 2/2 flyer. 2 cards for 3 is better than 1 card for 3 when blinking.
the one of wall is more durdly, provides less card advantage and puts no pressure on your opponents where at least drifter puts on a small amount and can serve as a blocker for flying infect/affinity.
Just wanted to post my current list, I have one open sideboard slot open since Kitchen Finks were removed once the Thragtusk went in the main so am open to suggestions. Have been considering a Kataki, War's Wage to shore up the affinity battle but would also consider something to battle infect or possibly titanshift. Have also been considering removing Stubborn Denial in favor of another Negate and/or hard counter.
Please feel free to critique the deck and make suggestions particularly for the sideboard, thanks!
I like BBD's idea of Elspeth in the board, but I'm also interested in 1 Eternal Witness in the main over a single Skyspawner. I recognize that it would be difficult to support both with the mana base, so I'm going to have to choose. My question to the group is which card is more impactful overall and why?
(I'm still in the process of building the deck, so I haven't been able to test personally.)
Of course, that first question has a potential follow up too... If I keep Elspeth and therefore run the singleton Skyspawner, is it worth the 3 Matter Reshaper/2 Skyspawner split or should I keep the full playset of Reshapers?
Thanks in advance for the input!
the gg requirement for witness has been difficult to hit at times and the impact is typically only felt late game. very few games go the distance so witness came out of my 75. spawner is flying and helps ramp early, also given an extra scion for drowner when it comes down, this is a more versatile creature overall.
the question for me now is cut one spawner for a mulldrifter
why not 2x reshaper 2x spawner 1x elspeth, or better yet if you are running 4x drowner cut 1 for elspeth? i'm running 3x drowner and it is working for me.
My only lose was to a very unique burn in round 4. Round 1 was a mono green stompyish deck that went off into a field of 2 drowners, a displacer and 9 mana....opps. Rounds 2 and 3 were a non naheri jeski control and an artifact jeski ascendancy combo. Round 5 was grixis ultimatum deck.
I was one turn from taking game 1 against burn when he dropped an ensnaring bridge and stopped me cold. game 2 i had nothing. is burn just a bad matchup or am i missing something.
As an aside, I am working on the caverns and ees, money is the issue there.
first, congratulations on your near win!
re: burn, i run 2x leyline of sanctity in my sideboard along with a worship, this has worked out well against burn as well as jund. timely reinforcements is not in my sideboard.
concur with jbhmickey, grafdiggers is def the way to go, relic has been too narrow for me even without factoring in the impact on coco and chord. instead of 3x cage my sideboard has 2x cage + 1x rip however.
So after the world's it looks like we have 2-3 flex spots with dismember/ee taking up the slots as extra removal in place of spellskite and Skyspawner.
Was doing some research and came across beast within. What do ppl think abt this? Versatile and shouldnt care about the token too much, displacer could also take care of it easily. Thoughts? Or is the 3cmc just too much/slow?
have been testing beast within in the sideboard for spot enchantment and walker/creature removal, did not like it in the main however. the 3cmc slot pretty much has to get a creature out game 1.
another thing i've been testing in the main is 3x reality smasher and 1x thragtusk instead of 4x smasher, it's too early to tell if it's a good move but i am optimistic.
took out eternal witness, the double green is tough and the impact early is not there.
another thing i'm running in the main is 2x warping wail. very good against fast decks infect burn and affinity, can help ramp with a scion if needed and can put out living end or other sorceries when needed, have found it flexible and fast enough for game 1.
I've seem Thragtusk in some sideboards but it is easily splashable and has great synergy with Eldrazi Displacer so why not maindeck 1x over one of the 6-drops ?
seems like kitchen finks would be better than thragtusk when you need it, faster against burn and sticks better.

the skyspawners and occasionally warping wail help me when i'm short and it has reduced flooding.

I particularly like the idea of the Unified Will replacing the Stubborn Denial.
I am not a fan of Elspeth however and agree with BBD on Blessed Alliance not making the sideboard.
