I've been having a lot of fun with Kaya Usurper. I've also been testing Sorin Vengeful Bloodlord but I'm not sure if Solemn Visitor is better, however I do like having the ability to bring back smaller creatures as well as giving the big ones lifelink.
I've never had a problem with burn, especially post board. White by itself has a multitude of lifegain options available. A resolved TKS and Reality Smasher is usually backbreaking for them, especially if you have a Sorin out.
I was just considering Maggot but decided not to for the same reasons. Ultimately I'm shelving Sculler for now, the mana requirement is a pain and I only played 2 copies. There's a reason the Taxes version plays vials. I'm going back to trying Matter Reshaper, I figure between TKS, Inquisition/TS, and Collective Brutality we have enough hand disruption.
I love scourge ( it feels great to discard it to collective brutality and exile with relic) but I would never take out souls for it. It's the main reason to play black and white.
It sounds like you'd be split between the processing and token strategy and not bringing out the full potential of either strategy. Most processor builds play Sorin because he's back breaking life gain when paired with TKS, Reality Smashers and Blight Herder + Tokens. And TKS is such a good card that I feel if you're not playing it there's no point in playing processors at all. A potential turn two TKS is one of the reasons this deck and the D&T version are as good as they are.
Luckily, if you're that undecided it's not really an investment to pick up the major processor pieces and experiment with them anyway.
Most people aren't fans of eternal scourge. I'm still an advocate for it but I wouldn't play 4 of them. In the end of the day it's a cool creature that never stays dead but it's still a vanilla beater.
I knew I was forgetting something haha. Yeah definitely 3-4 stranglers minimum. I opted Ring over anguished due to the life loss, duress is due to a heavy burn meta (same reason for no anguished), I might consider getting rid of the surgical but it's a nice instant speed method of gettting rid of a troublesome card, I might move it to the side. Collective Brutality and Scourge sound like an interesting idea and warrants some testing.
I had 2 flex spots with a Matter Reshaper and Displacer. I also took out Whip which probably would be a second copy of Sorin if I had it, but they served the same function. I miss the lifegain a bit, but the sideboard can be used to deal with that (Which is a WIP).
