Well with my particular lands, I have none that don't produce black, so casting both are the same.
I would certainly love to include Wraith, maybe just a straight swap with Confidant is best. But I am not tutoring the shadow as DSJ does, so I'm not entirely reliant
The deck is very interesting. It plays almost like Jund. Some very hard control cards early, but still can close the game quickly once you stick a threat. Certain decks have a hard time dealing with Unlife so that's a nice main deck delay for something like Burn or Affinity. I haven't tested this enough yet to be comfortable taking to a major event but I'm working on this list.
Wouldn't Countersquall be the better card to splash for? And if we were talking about a blue splash, maybe a BW tokens style deck with Gifts Ungiven could work?
Maybe it's just a waste of time, or completely the wrong thread to post this in. I've also considered a red splash in BW control, just to run Nahiri. She's insanely powerful
Eldrazi D&T is far and away the best variant of this archetype at the moment. I feel that is stronger than other Eldrazi variants as well. Here is my current list
The grind factor in a deck like this knows no bounds. And the Creatures with built in Thoughtseize effects are nasty. I'm torn on the number of Wasteland Strangler because when they're good, they're really really good. But sometimes they're dead in hand.
If you're not playing with fetch lands anyway, maybe you could include Leonin Arbiter or Aven Mindcensor? They have worked well for me in a BW control shell.
Your mana curve is too for playing 4x Dark Confidant. I run a build similar to yours and I also don't use Urborg TOY for the same reason.
If one of your reasons for using Utter End is for your own Persecutor, I would say cut both. There are more efficient threats without the risk. And Utter End is just way too costly. If your meta is not particularly competitive, I could see running one copy just for the flexibility.
Check out my list on the previous page. We kind of have the same idea going. Land hate / tax effects alongside Dark Confidant and BW control. I call the deck Hate Crimes
That is a sexy brew! And exactly the sort of amalgamation I was thinking of. Pox is a nice touch too... But I wonder if there are more ways you can take advantage of the graveyard. Since there are so many global discard effects and all. Here is my brew:
I learned recently that Urborg and Arbiter don't play well together because the opponent's fetch lands are able to produce black still. And of course the idea is to lock them out of mana.
I'm considering breaking into this archetype. Has a hybrid version of this deck and hatebears been tested? The Arbiter/Aven + Path/GQ combo seems suitable here

Heavy discard in the main deck and plenty of token producers to keep them from going too wide sounds fair.
