After an AA in Advertising Design, a BA in English - Creative Writing, and a Single Subject Teaching Credential in English, I finally found my calling: VIDEO GAME DESIGN!!!
I just wrapped up a BS in Game Art & Design at the Art Institute of California - Orange County. And today I went for the "bug test" (for a QA [Quality Assurance] Tester position) at Square-Enix. I find out in a week how I did & if I'll get an interview. I know QA is low man on the totem pole, but it at least get's my foot in the door, gets me experience, & hopefully my name on a shipped title.
I eventually want to be a prop modler... But I am not limiting myself to just prop modeling, I also have aspirations to become a World or Concept Designer. I also have aspirations to not only design digital games, but also analog games. I would like, as a possible alternate career path, to be part of a design team for board games, or even my dream job, working as part of the R&D team of Wizards of the Coast, designing for Magic: the Gathering or Dungeon’s and Dragon’s. It's just a big dream I need to figure out how to make come true.
Here is my portfolio, if anyone cares to take a gander: .
If anyone knows of any game (analog or digital) positions I would qualify for, or even excel at, please PM me.
Other than that, wish me luck!
