Experiment #3 - Big Red Button Mafia has ended with a mafia victory.
King_Deekus (who's a CropCircles sockpuppet, and shall he never cross me again) and Megiddo were forcibly replaced. kpaca wasn't technically forcibly replaced, but he would have been had the game not killed him, and thus belongs in this category too.
Add me to the specialty list for Too Many Neutrals Mafia Redux, for 16 players. Setup's done, I just need to browbeat someone qualified into looking at it.
I dunno, I don't like that. I think they should know who's poisoned, especially so the scum can falseclaim poison if they need to.
This will also allow the town to push for a lynch on a poisoned townie, which will result in an effective "No Lynch" for the Day.
Except with 7 players, that's only tactically prudent if the scum would automatically win from it anyway, i.e. on Day 2 after a Day 1 mislynch. I don't think that corner case outweighs the inevitable problem of everyone showing up Day 1 and comparing notes to see who poisoned the victim. They'd still inevitably compare notes, but there'd be that lingering element of "which of us is lying about actually tracking someone". I'd much rather force players to react to the death of a player after it happens, rather than before.
I agree that non-open Micros need to be reviewed. And anyone who wants to take a glance at the open setups can say, "yeah that looks fine" or "no that is the worst".
I think everything looks fine, except one question:
@Xyre: Are players aware that they're poisoned?
Nope. The hope is to get around the classic problem with Dethy-type games of info crunching dooming the scum by delaying the information's delivery, to force players to actually, y'know, play a little mafia.
I think our rule of thumb has always been open setups don't need to be reviewed since players can judge for themselves whether the game is worth joining or not. (Non-open micros should probably require review per usual.)
Sign me up for a Micro. Not sure at all if it's balanced, but should definitely be silly.
Experiment #4: Drunk Tracker Mafia
(also known as Danny Kaye Mafia)
- 3 sober trackers (each night, learn whom their target targeted)
- 2 drunk trackers (each night, learn their target targeted a random person other than themselves - don't know they're drunk)
- 2 mafia tracker poisoners (each night, learn whom their target targeted; one each night can instead poison a target, whom will die at the end of the following day)
- night head start
- players can't self-target
It looks like I forgot to actually ask to be put on a hosting list, so please put me on the mini list. (I might try my luck convincing the FTQ to let me through, but in any event, might as well put a foot in the door.)
Name: Plutocrat Mafia
Size: Mini (12)
Complexity: Medium (though who ever knows with me). Brings back a mechanic from one of the earliest games ever on the site, with a few modern twists.

I know. And you're modding a game. Like I said, no rush. I need a second reviewer anyway.
