Naw, five is already too many.
I'll edit him in, and edit in something saying that the list is at the bottom and that pming/posting prob list people is fine in there as well
EDIT: I mean we hardly use the list, maybe that would encourage it.

I agree with fade. I know some of you may point at me as a hipocrite for saying it.
Part of the reason I stopped (back about 1.5 years ago, way before most of the things some refer to as "incidents" ) was that I was used to the play style at the time of 'news. It was changing then into what it is now, which is fine for all of you, but leaves me remembering the good old days.
You guys here like yourselves some power, which is cool, it allows hosts to go completely crazy with setup design, but I think we are due for some traditional 20 player 1 cop 1 doc 4 (or was it 5?) mafia games. Maybe even blind ones. (And I've got just the gimmick.)
edit: *blatant hinting that we should run a blind game again. any in agreement?*
Inviting players?
Invites should be fine, but dont go overboard.
I don't know if there is an official stance on giving specific roles to players, but I am completely opposed to it because it reduces the randomness and the host must obviously favor (or dislike) the play to specifically design a role for them.
Anyone else?

I dislike the large amount of spammy posts we do get.
As for really long posts: Divide them with spoiler boxes, or rather than quote posts, link to them or quote the absolute minimum of the post necessary to make your point.
I like the spoiler box thing though. Nested spoilers might be a little much, though.

Assuming all presented evidence is true (and I trust loran) and based on the actions pre and post-modkill of Alx, I agree and recommend the listing him. While your input is nice to hear, with no evidence, I would like further opinions from being posted on the subject of this specific case. As always, discussion of the general things involved with listing is A-okay.
Az, your call.

College stuff, teachers loading me with tons of work, and girl drama, oh my.
I was meaning to look into things since I got Ged's pm, but just got swamped. There are another three council members to do this for you, you know.
Other than that, there hasn't been anything necessary to officiate or whatnot, and Az has been doing perfectly fine in my moment of extreme busyness. I am always invisible, so you may not see me lurking, but I do tend to check this thread every day or so, and the forum status on the whole when I have time.
This lack of time will probably last for another month, and then be filled with me whining about having too much time and nothing to do.

Azrael was made in charge of this last I checked.
When a list is prepared, I will add it to the initial hosting page, or az can edit the first page here, or az can edit his post at the beginning of the hosting thread.
I have no objections to current nominations.
edit: hey look four council in a row

It's interesting how I seem to be unable to notice when the council thread updates.
I'll be more on the ball in the future.
The thing about being drafted really was because I kept getting people with little experience, or just people who really wanted to be hosting, messaging me all the time to host them.

DM: No objection here.
Actually, perhaps the two-game rule should only apply to signing up for games (unless you are new to mafia), so replacement can go slightly easier, and so people who really want to be in as many games as possible have a slight chance. If this were to change, I would suggest a wait time of 1-3 days before accepting replacements who would, by joining, then be in 2 games (so that others who are not in the other game of the type can have a chance to get in first.)
Thoughts?
Checking in.
I have not been able to do anything mafia-related because my computer decided to not work anymore when I plug it in. That happened a week ago, and I went away (with no access to even a work computer, which is what I am using now) Thursday.
I specifically have told the last newb game hosts to use the standard setup though, and if the most recent was not (too busy to check, obviously), the host should probably face disciplinary action. Also, nobody has notified me the the current one ended, or a would have another running. Unfortunately, what with me being away and all, I have been unable to remain in contact with the next host. As Azrael is currently active (judging by the fact that his was the last post in thread) and a Council member, he will choose the next noob host and may enforce any setup he wishes.
EDIT: Minis are =<12, pretty sure that was posted.

About ingame promises and violations of the spirit of the game and whatnot: I hate them, I hate them, I hate them. But I would hate banning them, because all I can see coming from a restriction fo this sort is political style bullcrap where some players decide to toe the line, and some mods decide on their own where the line is. The spirit of the game is not a static thing. One mod might see something some way, maybe all of them do, until one hosts, and some player does what their experience seems to indicate is alright, and the mod thinks it violates his idea of the spirit of the game. Suddenly there is a conflict, and the council has to take sides, and nomatter what someone will be unhappy.
While not doing anything might seem worse than disallowing this, I think players could realize something: Nomatter what a person says in the game, they can be lying. So what if they claim to know that person X is town and they would stake their life savings on it? There is no way they would actually do that, whether or not they were lying. I suggest everyone just tell people who use metagame support for ingame things to "Shut up and use real logic."
About mods policing their games: That is what the are there for, isn't it? Mod is short for moderator, obviously. What does a moderator on MTGS as a whole do? Right, police the forums assigned to them. What should differentiate the two jobs other than level of power (a single game vs. a forum and whatnot)? Nothing. They are enforcer roles, and if they don't like enforcing their rules, they shouldn't have signed up to be one. You can't always be the good guy (as I should know, I can't ever be the good guy ;))
Currently mods may submit players they deem worthy of punishment to the council for probation/blacklisting. Not many mods have done this (and none recently.)
I am not the best person for dealing out punishment (most see me as a bit harsh and biased. Let's not joke, I am. ) so, last I recall, Azrael was given this duty. He is free to continue it (so submit complaints to him, and he will deal) or he may give it to another of the Council.
EDIT: There could obviously be a better system though, I just haven't thought of it or had it suggested to me.

The first post of the signups thread has been significantly altered.
Please check the Specialty signups rules (and how to sign up under the new system)
Also, all normal hosts should check that their game does not include any of the newly restricted roles. If they do, please check with me or fadeblue for approval.
Do note that even though you have to check, you do not have to inform players that any of these special restrictions are present in the game.
Any public discussion of changes should occur in this thread.

I totally hate when people try to guess the players or whatever, at least during actual gameplay.
Also, I am still pro completely standard roles in it if/when it happens.
