Ulrich strode out amongst the gathered people in the King and found himself a likely looking spot to perform. As he approached the spot he performed an eye drawing flourish with his feet before perching himself on a stool near the wall.
He ran through a scale on his harmonica and then began telling the tragic ballad of an elf who went to war for a woman named Gwendolyn. Between each verse he played an accompaniment on his mouth organ that set the tone for the next verse. The piece eventually ended on a rather somber note, with the death of the brave elf in battle and the lady Gwendolyn taking her own life in sorrow.
Ulrich drew the final few notes of this out as long as his breath would let him... transitioning into a decidedly more up tempo number. In battle this performance piece had driven Snake to fight the eldritch chimera without thought for his own safety, Ulrich had the feeling its forceful, driving melodies would make a nice contrast to the baleful ending of the piece before it.
