Arl's head began to swim as it was filled with darkness. Red eyes emerge from the darkness. The fuzzy image showed a man with dusky dead looking skin. She got the impression of extreme danger from those red eyes.
They found a note on Bob's body. The note was written in flowing red script.
The only kiss you'll receive is from the lips of death, your only light the one that is perfect. Look for your heart's desire where stands the protector of spirits.
Bartender -"Beats me on where he'll be tonight. As far as a bounty goes, he's a really big drunk fool. He's gotten a bit worse lately. Something about his father dying or some such. Anyway he sometimes breaks things... Actually he might show up tonight we do have mead on special, he loves that stuff."
After what likely seemed like a rather silly display to her comrades, Arl found that the woman did not in fact have a pulse. The body was losing its warmth so it had likely been dead for almost an hour before she got there. Whether Arl had the skills to determine it or not.
Unfortunately there was no effect from succor... When she reached the alley she was greeted with a grizzly scene. The two peacekeepers were both decapitated on either end of the alley. A pale and frail woman lay crumpled against the wall. A message was written in blood". NONE ESCAPE THE PERFECT LIGHT."
When the group made their way into the alley they saw the silhouette of a man leaned up against a wall a bit down. When they got closer they could see that it was in fact Bob. The man was clearly dead and had a dark bruise across his neck. His wrists were slit and a message was written on the wall in his blood: "Pretenders are less than the creatures of the earth, barely deserving of the perfect light."
Go ahead and run, you'll only die tired.
Those who might never meet are pooled together

After quite a bit of waiting the two bounty hunters were disappointed in their hopes.
Bartender - "Sorry folks... Maybe he found himself over at Tom's?"
