Burkhard walked through the market and to the Wood Witche's shop, Adahy once again hitching a ride on his arm. He waited for the others to arrive before he knocked on the door.
Burkhard - He mentioned that there was nothing written in the diary that pertained to the situation. I believe he was referring to the situation of how his sister came to be cursed. The other main reason why he wouldn't allow any of us to look at the diary was that it contains things that he can not allow to become public knowledge. Now, I might just be over-extrapolating here, but what if he's wrong about the diary having no information pertaining to why Lady Varel was cursed? What if the things that he can't allow to become public knowledge are related to his sister performing a sacrifice for a likely frowned upon, if not outright forbidden, Scion spell? There is a decent chance that he doesn't even know that the man that was sacrificed was the Wood Witch's grandfather.
Burkhard - You seem to be misunderstanding what I mean with my words. None of what I said was intended as a threat. It's just that both of these issues need to be brought before the right people, one way or another.
Burkhard - We never mentioned the exact nature of the Lady's issue, yet you knew immediately what she is suffering from. Even if you were not the one who caused it, you're somehow involved, and that's enough for the Peacekeepers to look into you and your business. It'll also likely bring some form of vengeance from Lord Varel himself. In the end, you'll only add more pain to your family's history if you don't at least come with us and speak with him.
Burkhard - You've admitted to the act that we've been hired to reverse or, at the very least, find solid answers for the cause of. If what you said is true, then it's a matter for the Peacekeepers to look into and rectify. Hopefully, in the end, you and the Scion will both face justice, since it seems that you're not willing to, or maybe not even capable of, reversing your actions.

Burkhard walked forward to the door and started to step inside. Adahy hung from Burkhard's arm using his tail.
