Seeing that mana abilities don't use the stack anymore, the only way this is useful in any way is if a whole bunch of mana is floating off a ritual or something.
"As you cast Depleting Whelk, each opponent activates a mana ability of each land he or she controls if able. If a land would produce mana this way, instead add that mana to your mana pool. Spend this mana only to cast Depleting Whelk."
I have no idea whether this even works. Even then, you can see what this'd do in, say, someone's upkeep. It might actually be balanced in its current incarnation, even if it's not intended.
I'm honestly not sure if I submitted an original card today or if I have been "inspired" by someone else card from a past DCC. If anyone feels that I ripped them off, let me know and I'll change the card.
It's probably because of the crickity craze. Also there was that Slime Molding that made the token fight linked on the last page. Not sure that counts as ripping off if it was your own design
Congratulations Tilde. We'll have a rematch next year

Does this work? Won't the next instant or sorcery card forget it had rebound once it changes zones?
It'll work. The second part of rebound is a delayed triggered ability, like Heat Shimmer - it's already "gone off", it's just waiting for the next upkeep to go on the stack.
Phew, elven-point gap to close. Might still be possible with the beginning-of-month signups tomorrow, but I'm not counting on it. Fortunately I was struck by inspiration this morning. Good luck Tilde!
Good catch, thanks. I'm glad it managed to get the point across well enough for someone to notice the glitch. I think I fixed it with "Double the number of each type of counter on target permanent." Which reads better anyways.
Gilder Bairn has the right wording if you want to double all counter types.
@Legend - right now you'll only ever be placing one counter with Proliferation, and as such basically made a worse Clockspinning. I think you want to refer to types of counters rather than counters themselves.
Har-har... But seriously, I beg to differ. My Mana Battery (the first one btw), is somewhat similar to the Legend ones, only better of course in order to be on par with contemporary power levels.
basically the same, except your version was affected by all players' creatures and not just ones you controlled
it's a solid mechanic, seems like fun to play (and fair)
Seems like Evolve can have other triggers, like landfall or an opponent playing a dude with flying. Interesting idea though, especially removing those counters to "evolve" Auras.
