Ink-Treader
why is this card called Irritable Psychopomp. It's a good idea to have the card tell a story about the origin of the two tokens, but in the end there is no reason this story has to revolve around someone irritable or someone psycho or someone pomp.
There is also always a little apprehension about making different token types and I don't feel follow the light at all - at least not on this card.
I just noticed this. You're right. I was having a HELL of a time coming up with an adjective. (As for what a psychopomp (it's a real word) is, it's a guide for lost souls essentially.)
well, my suggestion doesn't help by itself, but it'd be needed for it to copy new things, if you wanted it to have the ability to keep changing
as it stands, the card loses its cloning static ability if it's cloning something, so it no longer has the ability that lets it be a copy so there's a paradox. you would need it to say "except it still has this ability" and i'd only suggest also adding "still has this ability and soulbound" so it could do it again
would add "you can't sacrifice those lands" to be safe. otherwise the combos are too cruel
this would also work to avoid abuse: "Untap all lands target player controls. You and only you may activate abilities of those lands this turn."
I definitely gave some thought to the "mwahahaha Zuran Orb mwahahaha" things that could come up. (in retrospect, I was sure that'd sink the card's chances) The first idea there is the most sensible (not weird) of the ideas, but the second does also prevent Ruin Ghost shenanigans (then again Ruin Ghost is at least clever...) I think I'd use the first one... got to throw the Johnnies of the world a bone.
I'm curious what people thought of my card. I thought I had a wonderful idea, I'm just concerned that maybe the seemingly good idea was too oppressive/abusable.
Actually, the card doesn't work at all under either the original wording or your proposed wording.
The original wording works on the assumption that the creature does the targeting, which is untrue. Yours doesn't use valid rules terms.
This kind of ability is hard to phrase correctly but something like "Creatures and players with hexproof, shroud and protection can be the target of abilities of ~ as though they didn't have those abilities" should work. You can't make it work without explicitly naming which abilities you want to circumvent, I don't think.
EDIT: It's possible that "You may choose targets for abilities of CARD as though those targets had no abilities" may work, but it's a strange fruit.
Hmm... I shall store this information away. It's not an effect I intend to use often in designs, but I will use it.
Yeah, I figured a planeswalker wouldn't be popular, they hardly ever do well in the DCC. But I'm curious what people think of it if you're so inclined to answer.
Well I can already ask myself "What the hell was I thinking?" Yeah... my card today really should of had a mana cost for activation somewhere in there...
I mean no offense to Antny directly, or the people who've voted for him, and I know it's a possibility people are just unaware they exist, but Alara had a set of five lands that merely entered tapped and unconditionlly produced three different colors. So... to see a rare land that does that, but also has restrictions being voted for just seems a little odd to me.
Bleh, I'm really sorry, it is different, and it has the flavor of Numot the Devastator, in a way, but it's just the first card in long, long while that I can't fully comprehend why it's getting multiple votes.
Because it's a wedge land, which seem to, by nature, require stricter requirements than the shardlands. It does seem quite restrictive to me as well, but I suppose it's not terrible.

It's probably intentional.

Probably just putting the appropriate mana symbol to the left of the type line.

Cycling through card types? I don't see a theme in the card mechanics...

Oh I know. That's what I get for posting when I'm tired.
EDIT: And on that note, I must say Rithaniel, you may have found the solution to making lands that don't produce mana having other abilities.
