Does anyone have any info on what's happening? I know we should be posting critiques according to the schedule but days have passed and the submission time hasn't been officially closed. Some contestants didn't submit either. Everything is a bit odd and I'm wondering if there is some info I'm missing.
Hemlock would still make it into the top 8 based on his round 1 performance, so luckily it didn't really matter in this case. I should probably watch for that during the rounds I guess, I don't want to disqualify people on a technicality but they need to stick to the prompt.
Also @Hemlock, I assumed your Top 3 were ordered from 1 to 3, but please make that clear in the future.
Jimmy would have had the second best score but he didn't submit any critiques I know time can be an issue but this contest relies on peer participation so sadly had to zero out those scores.
Top 8 going up shortly.
It slipped from me that the card qas supposed to be an instant or sorcery (And I really wouldn't have been able to make much sense designing inatants for the octopus given its Aura-Flash interactions) but I really liked the positivw feedback and I woould have been happy even if I hadn't made it to the top 8.
I don't think the point is that. Icari, you make vaiid points but I don't think you should be caring that much. The nature of CCL makes it strongly self-regulated, and I find that is great. Things get punished via judgements according to each's perception (And I agree that you're right to crop points off for stuff like extra cards if you want to). You post a card and you give and get lots of feedback and everyone will look at different things. And it's great.
What kjsharp said about atmosphere didn't hit me until the "real life schedule" issue came up: The big reason I'm able to participate in the CCL is because schedules are a bit flexible and that means a lot to me because there's a sense of solidarity in it, precisely because we all have real life schedules. I was late yesterday, but if you check it you will see I'm late a lot and organizers have always been helpful. I don't think time extension issues should be read into the light of what's fair. Take my word when I tell you I was not being late because of fine-tuning designs.
But well, as I said, we're kind of a community in the CCL and this is just an opinion no-one has to agree on. I'm not even sure I've made my point clear, but the CCL is in my opinion a great space precisely because of the quantity and quality of opinions.
Some contestants commented on spelling errors in my entry. I'm looking for them but I can't find them. English is not my mother language so I must be missing something. Could I get them pointed as to no make them again? Thanks!
I might not be able to post proper critiques before midnight. I didn't do the critiques yesterday because I took that we were waiting for BrainPo to submit, but today is election day here and I'll be auditing local vote count for the party I support. I'll do my best anyway
I'm with Asrama in having not interpreted the clarifications. I went with Ele!phant Knight considering Knight as an iconic creature type for white, and I don't feel I stretched the meaning of "iconic" by going with knight (my submission was not without its problem, though, the race choice didn't help and my keyword was myriad). I will not consider the creature type limitation for my critiques, mainly because I didn't quite get it and many others fell through that crack.
Hi, guys, I have a situation I would like to share with you.
I reached Todris about the outcome of the semifinals. I was quite sure i was getting past as i got the third highest score in the round. Todris explained to me that he was adding the score from the semifinals to the total score of the three first rounds, I told him that traditionally scores were reset for the semifinals. I'd like to know what do you guys think about this situation, as a part of me feels I should try to get this fixed and the other that it should be just left.
I hunger for feedback! So far, how do you like the CCL? What are some mistakes I made? What are your opinion on the challenges? The common theme in this month is meta, but I fear I may have gone a bit overboard and made them too vague or constricting, or somehow both.
I enjoyed this CCL, the challenges actually felt like challenges and this gave room to really good submissions. On the other hand, there weren't as many participants as usual for this same reason. The first challenge was rather difficult and required you to put some its share of thought.
I don't think the challenges were really constricting, althought they were not without their difficults. The variety in the submissions to account for the same problems is a good proof that they worked well.
I liked this one. One thing I would advice is to make the inicial challenge a bit more friendly to get more participants in. I really feel the challenges were very good and forced some very good design off us.

I'll post my standings more clearly from now on.
