@Koopa (or anyone else that could answer my question):
Does the "draftable" pool of cards have to be, in fact, draftable on itself as a whole, or could it be just an example portion of a subtheme (so we would be able to make a pool of cards that wouldn't be useful to be draft all togheter, but that give a hint of this subtheme from each given color.) I'm not sure if my question is clear enough. Let's say my subtheme goes around life loss. The 6-8 cards should be able to be tied in a single deck, or could they just give a preview of that subtheme without the needing of play well togheter?
Yeah, I get it. For me, it happened to be a pretty busy month at the forums (two "CCLs", MCC, keeping the good stride at the DCC...) It just made it really hard to find time for everything (mostly having multiple cards rounds in two CCL games while also a particullary though month regarding the artwork moderation *sigh*)
I'll try to do my best at providing crits for the rest of the rounds (and will accept gladly a DQ in case I do not submit again in any of the two games. It just makes sense to give a second chance, then let the axe fall off in case of a relapse.)
Question: I had no time for posting even a Top3. Do I need to post crits and/or top3, now that the top8 is up? I doubt my comments/points would change anything, but I would like to know anyway.
Dark Visions2BB
Sorcery U
Spellbond (This spell costs you 1 less to cast for each other spell cast this turn that shares a color with it.)
Target player draws three cards and loses three life. "Close your eyes. They're useless for what I have to show you."
—Liliana Vess
Deadly Shadows1B
Instant (C) Alignment - Target creature gets -X/-X until end of turn, where X is twice the number of spells that share a color with Deadly Shadows cast this turn. “Light doesn’t dispel the darkness; the darkness consumes the light.”
-Vierin, night lord
Alignment is an ability word that refers to the number of spells sharing a color with a spell or permanent cast this turn.
While this is a rather simple presentation of the mechanic, higher rarities would have more complex/powerful effects. Also worth noting is that a spell with Alignment would usually count itself (unless it somehow changed/lost colors when it was cast...)
After posting my entry, I decided to take a look to see if there was any similar, if not identical idea floating around, then found your entry two posts above. *Sigh*
Fortunately, even if they seem to reward players for the same thing, they both still doing pretty different things.
Neddless to say that this was just a casualty (and good luck! :))
EDIT: Also, I'm going to add a short story of my thoughts behind the mechanic in my entry post. It would be cool if you give them a read to see if we shared the same line of thought too.
Well, I've modified my top3, since I had to comment an extra card that ended being my first choice (sorry, aurorasparrow for missing your entry in first place. Also, my apologies to Cardz5000 for moving him from the top3 to the HM. :-/)
Now I think I'm done.
Oh, also thanks to the user who catched my mistake and posted in the round thread (Eskimo Rage?)
Well, this is embarrassing, but... I don't know how to link to a random card. It seems that the link you get while hitting the round 3 OP's link is a generic link for random cards. I've got Meddling Mage, so what I did is to just write "Meddling Mage" and use the card tags. Is that ok? Are we supposed to probe somehow the card we got? (I still having the page in wich I got the Meddling, just in case... :p)
I bet there will probably be some other missjudgings in other teams, as we had many info to take in consideration this month. I would suggest everybody to double check the results to help everyone to judge properly.
Folks, would the following design pass the "tension" test, considering my previous card was a land with a non-mana activated ability? I'm asking cause, since the limitations for this month are a bit obscure, I'm afraid I could screw it up. Thanks in advance!
Dismantle-Gang Chief :symr::symr:
Creature — Goblin Rogue U
Untapped Goblins you control have dismantle 2 (Whenever an activated ability from an artifact or land is activated, if it isn't a mana ability, you may tap this creature. If you do, destroy that permanent unless its controller pays .) Their inherent affection to destroy everything is what makes goblins very effective at disassembling things. 2/2
Personally, I find healty the new standards for creature tokens. 3/3 Elephants wasn't the most clever standard for a 3/3 (specially being wolves 2/2's and Rhinos 4/4's. Think about it.) Beasts as the new 3/3 standard feels just fine. Even so, I find correct to have a 4/3-5/3 beast if it's a mutant/enraged/multicolored beast. In case of sagharri's card, I think we're like Polymorphing a dude into a beast, so I think it's fine to have it "extra-beasty". Just a thought.
Not sure if the round has closed yet, but in case it didn't, do you think i've understood the task well? I've missed the first round because I missinterpreted the challenge, and I'm afraid I could do it again. Thanks
Edit: I'm not sure if I managed Anachroma correctly as you expected.
If possible, I'll be posting my sign up card for this month tomorrow. Now here it is 01:15 am and I need to wake up early in the morning. Sorry for that.
No time for deep comments, but I think that making the poll anonymous will be healty for the contest. Seriously, it will help some, if not almost the people to focus on the cards, I'm pretty sure. (the only problem will be that the anonymity will be hurted by the interconection between rounds. :/
Also, in the semis, the last one posting (if wasn't eliminated by the other pool) may practicaly choose his opponent at will. that does not sound cool at all.

Again, thanks GM!

EDIT: The same here, except it's just one entry:

Let's design something -completely- different.
Dismantle-Gang Chief :symr::symr:
Creature — Goblin Rogue U
Untapped Goblins you control have dismantle 2 (Whenever an activated ability from an artifact or land is activated, if it isn't a mana ability, you may tap this creature. If you do, destroy that permanent unless its controller pays .)
