Huh, is there a comprehensive rule that'd hard stop "Choose a creature card name or creature token name" from working? 201.3 only stops naming a token if asked for a card name, but that doesn't prevent a card from asking for a token name.
Was it necessary to take a pot shot at my victory? Seesh. I'm tired of this.
My apologies friend, I truly meant nothing disparaging of it. It'd be very strange if I, the Magic/Hearthstone player, gave "Man you got lucky" any credit!
Alright looks like IcariiFA closes out the year with another win, good work*! And a thank you to my co-judges for their time and effort.
That was an interesting month. I'm a little dissapointed Silver Border ended up a bait, they're much harder designs and aren't really rewarded by the rubric for it. And I was reluctant to make it one of the subchallenges, I didn't want to strongly pressure people into Silver Bordered land if they didn't want to. Also I had trouble coming up with good subchallenges. You'll note a lot of freebie subchallenges I put in when I couldn't think of a second one (I'm sure yall had trouble making a non-mono black christmas card), and others were a little too vague. Ah well.
*Though you got a bit lucky with the pairings in Round 2!
Dang it! I'm an idiot that failed to read the clarifications. Still, it seems odd that a Selesnya card could be the white card to fulfill a cycle.
Though with the Selesnya pair in particular, I'd imagine a beast set would have a significant green bleed in the same way Innistrad has a significant black bleed.
By the by, how am I supposed to divy up the contestants into their judge pod? I've just been alternating judges between each submission (1st+4th+7th... submissions go to one judge, 2nd+5th+8th... submissions goes to another etc.), but if I'm supposed to fully randomize it let me know!
I'll follow the contest from the outside on December, un-cards are not something I really like to design or judge
Completely understandable. I was likewise worried four un-designs would be a little much, so I ended up just making the themes lighthearted and the silver bordered part optional (except for one challenge, but I think they'll enjoy it).
If y'all need another judge, I'll be happy to judge. I've never played a silver-bordered game before, although that might change this weekend! Unstable looks great
Have you watched a Saturday Morning Cartoon and/or Shounen anime!? Friendship is the greatest power of them all.
I like this next challenge, I hope you take off points for overly narrow hosers that couldn't actually be sideboarded or maindecked.

x = [1,2,3,4,5,6]
>>> random.shuffle(x)
>>> print(x)
[6, 2, 4, 3, 5, 1]
>>> x = [1,2,3]
>>> random.shuffle(x)
>>> print(x)
[1, 3, 2]

That'd be fantastic!
