The sideboard is still a WIP... Leyline of Sanctity or its budget cousin, Ivory Mask should probably be in there (over Mine Excavation?). Maybe Narcolepsy could get in over Journey to Nowhere if ETBs are a concern. And, given that this deck is weak to combo... Angel's Grace? Nevermore? some counterspells? Regardless, it feels good when Kruphix's Insight is a draw 3, when every enchantment you CAST (not play) produces a 4/4 flier and ticks up Myth Realized by 1, and Reality Acid destroys a land a turn. Of course, the engine required to do these things is rather slow by Modern standards, so fast aggro is not much appreciated. But there is enough creature kill in the deck to survive against anything slower.
Ok but who cares if we call it Enchantress.dek or Enchantments.dek?
The archetype of Enchantress decks feature an Enchantress-style draw engine (Argothian Enchantress being the original namesake of the Legacy Enchantress deck). Historically, that is how the deck got its name. Every Enchantress deck list that I've seen has that Enchantress-style draw engine.
Anybody can make an enchantment-heavy deck without the draw engine, but it would probably become its own discussion thread after some time. An enchantment heavy deck is not an Enchantress deck if it lacks that lynchpin card. The naming of the Enchantress deck is similar to Tron and Twin decks. Those decks must have the named lynchpin cards to be named that way.
No, seriously, can we stop splitting hairs over this? We can try to make enchantress decks without the enchantress engine, because even you agree that that engine is too fragile in Modern. It's still the same deck which depends on density of enchantments to win...
Would this be the right thread to discuss an all white enchantment deck that DOESN'T use Mesa Enchantress? I run a creatureless version because I think Enchantress herself is just too flimsy to be relied upon at 3cc. My thought is that she is going to catch any creature removal because shes the only target for such and thus a waste of an opportunity to make a bunch of your opponent's cards dead.
Greater Auramancy protects Myth Realized, but it does nothing for enchantress.
Will someone please tell me why Myth Realized isn't one of the most powerful cards in this forthcoming set, not even considering its outrageous utility for an enchantress deck? I can see it somehow seeing the light of day in legacy enchantress...I myself have pre-ordered a playset! I will take the risk in them going down in value because I see them going up!
And you made an account just to say that? Have more faith in your "investments", dude...
I'm still testing out the deck and hope to have it ready this weekend. One thing that concerns me is the Tron matchup, has anyone had this matchup and how did it go?
You can only tremble in front of Tron. I already did some matches against Blue Tron, and although Karn was slowed because of Greater Auramancy, Ugin just got into play and -X the entire board. Even worse is that Ugin can -5, wipe our board and still survive with no problem to keep some pressure on us.
For my deck at least, combo is the worst matchup. You can try and hate storm with Rule of Law, but I really don't know how to stop Scapeshift or Tron in time. Maybe some Ghost Quarter or Tectonic Edge, but only if our mana base allows it
