I dunno, budget to me is a deck I could build with what's in my wallet, from scratch, at my LGS, in one fell swoop.
I don't think I could build anything for $4 so budget magic may not be for me.
The Hanna deck a couple posts up may have actually been budget when it was posted in 2017. Greater Auramancy was probably $20 or so, but most of the other pricey stuff in there was reprinted in masters sets around that time and the list has a lot of low-mid value stuff adding up to the total cost, much of which has climbed in price over the last couple years. Budget lists either change constantly or increase in price over time, sometimes pretty drastically. It could also be aimed at online play, where the total cost is under $20.
As an aside, I remember when I started and it seemed crazy to pay more than $1-2 for a single card at the top end. That mindset has definitely changed.

A couple months later, all of the color work on my new tattoo is done. The artist is super good with color and I'm super white, so it's a good combo. One image in the spoiler, a couple others and a video (because it wraps around my leg) on the artist's instagram. All of the grey in the background is fresh, so it will fade a little over time/once my leg isn't red.

I'm rooting for cryo. I would durdle so hard if Nightmare was unbanned.
Got to play Bolas's Citadel last night in a deck with basically no deckbuilding concessions made for it, so no Aetherflux Reservoir, kids, or excessive lifegain. Got wheeled into it with nothing on board but lands and 8 vampire tokens with 30ish life (two superfriends lists in a 5 player game, so no one was getting hit). Proceeded to go through the remaining 60ish cards in deck thanks to that, ramp spells to shuffle away lands, Underrealm Lich, and Fecundity. Drained everyone for 20 with Citadel and Zulaport Cutthroat and was in a position to win on my upkeep with enough life to protect Lich as well as mana to cast Heroic Intervention. Someone else ended it with a wrath before I got there just to speed things up, but the end result was the same. Card's good.

I've picked up a few things for legacy/modern and a first pass at EDH goodies so far. I'm a magpie when it comes to EDH, so I'm realistically better off waiting for a few weeks to grab anything else that I'm after. I grabbed the stuff I'm planning on including in Jaya and some of the stuff I want to play in other archetypes that I play a lot.
WAR is really promising for eternal/non-rotating formats in general. Legacy has people trying out Teferi, Narset, Saheeli, Karn, and Ugin in decks that are looking really good so far as well as some smaller stuff like Liliana's Triumph. Modern has a new boogeyman combo deck thanks to Neoform and people building around a bunch of the same walkers as legacy plus Ashiok. I think vintage is even picking up a few cards (I've seen Narset and Karn so far), though I'm not nearly as familiar with that format. The power level here is high.

Hi! I'm Dragonlover. I posted here years ago but my account got eaten by the Twitch merge and nothing of value was lost.
I've been playing Magic since 2000, took a break from Kamigawa to M11 and have pretty much exclusively played EDH since my return. I've not slung much cardboard the last couple of years due to work, but my schedule just changed so I can finally get down to my local on their Commander night. I'm also taking the time to actually put decklists up, as where I've not paid attention to Magic beyond selling it to people the last few years there's plenty of cards I've forgotten about/didn't notice came out.
Dragonlover
Welcome. I was also looking at the mono-W legendary list yesterday, so I threw some feedback into your thread. I've considered similar decks in the past, just with more colors to open up the options a little.

I wouldn't worry even if the value isn't there now. There's a lot of stuff that feels like it's modern/legacy playable and a lot of obvious EDH stuff. It's all going to be cheap for a while while the set is opened like mad, especially considering that the set hasn't even released yet. Look at it again after the set has been out of print for a couple years and it's probably a different story. I'm expecting a lot of these cards to have moderate demand well after it's out of standard.

I think this could be an interesting experiment to try out for a while. Don't know how I'd feel about a permanent thing... but... I'd be willing to try.
My group has been floating the idea of allowing walkers as generals. We have a couple people interested in trying them out. Probably not an interesting data point for the wider format because I don't think anyone would be actively trying to break them, but we'll see.

Mono white is fun times. Mono colored decks in general are usually pretty entertaining, if for no other reason than making you a little more likely to play things you might not find room for in a list with more options.

So, I guess I can't help but to think about the condition of the water in those cans after YEARS of being in there. I do not want to drink that..... It would need a damn emergency for me to do so.
That's kind of the point, isn't it?

I have literally never seen an episode of GoT. Am I a horrible person?
Nah. I made it a couple seasons in before it felt like it was just alternating between sex and torture scenes, which wasn't really my thing. I have read the books and it's been fun to watch the internet reaction to a couple events that people weren't expecting, though that obviously hasn't happened since the show overtook the books.

Weezer on a classic rock station still made me feel old.
