I would say the top cuts are probably Hellspark Elemental and Keldon Marauders. Red two drops have just come so far in quality that the ones that function as face burn spells alone don't seem to cut it anymore IMO.

Mentor triggers off of tokens, which is pretty huge. There's also a fair number of creatures that cost 4 or more but have 2 or less power, many more so than there are creatures who cost 3 or less and have >2 power. Mentor is going to trigger more often, and draws its cards more cheaply.

I'd say Sphinx because it's a prime Tinker/Reanimate target, and Soulfire because it's the strongest of the C(D/E) Hybrids, which are easier to cast than Rhino.

Both forever, but I like preordain because it has a chance to be essentially draw 3 if you bottom two useless cards.
But by this logic, you can "draw four" with Ponder when you shuffle a bad three away.
I'd say the comparative value depends on the density of shuffle effects in your cube. Preordain more permanently gets rid of the cards you don't want, as long as you don't shuffle after. Ponder leaves you suck with chaff if you really want one of three but the other two are bad, but if you can shuffle after, it gets really strong.
It's also worth noting that Ponder provides a shuffle effect itself, which can help improve the quality of Brainstorm, Sensei's Divining Top, Scroll Rack, Jace, the Mind Sculptor, and others.

Xenagos is a stronger card on paper, making free hasty 2/2's and occasionally ramping, but Sarkhan does more unique things, as he's one of the few cubeable Fires of Yavimaya effects as well as being one of the few cubeable Threaten effects. I'd go with Vol if you support the Fires-type decks and Xenagos otherwise.

Berserker is the better card in general, with Chandra slightly edging them out if you heavily support mono-red (generally by including a lot of stuff like Fireblast, Searing Blaze, Ash Zealot etc that's strongest in mono)

Forked offers the shot at a 2-for-1, which is really, really strong for one mana. Blood is the weakest because it's two mana and only deals 2 damage, plus double red is harder to hit.

I like that both cards do fairly unique things. Omnath can store mana and potentially be a big beater while Shaman can ramp out a big beater and provide a Biorhythm effect maybe once every 100 games. I am trying to support green ramp in my cube.
Shaman is probably slightly better for the ability to land a turn 4 6-drop on its own. The Biorhythm effect is too expensive to really consider, but he's got a more durable body than stuff like Argothian Elder and Somberwald Sage.
Venser, the Sojourner seems stronger as he's really flexible. Brago is just an Azure Drake unless you can get synergy permanents into play with him. And with only one flicker-happy permanent, Venser synergizes about as well, only immediately.

Invader seems like the best of these options. I'm not sure I like either of the others. Seeker is extremely conditional on what other creatures you have, and Emissary is just clunky. What else are you running at two? There's probably something better you could get.

Hermit gives more power on the first swing and is harder to remove the entirety of its power at once, as spot removal still leaves you with 4 squirrels. Kalonian is great, but Hermit is just a bit more exciting.

I like Ugin a bit better. The super ramp deck has a slight more problem hitting 8 than 7, but Ugin's + is significantly better than Karn's and protects himself, and his - can protect himself from a larger field of threats. And his Ult can more consistently and quickly seal the game.

Four mana wraths are so hard to come by. I'd pick the Verdict.
Hero + Angel. Having your four drop killed by every Searing Spear is really sad.

The body on Scatter is a bigger advantage than the scry 1, which doesn't really seem worth the 1 mana premium over Counterspell.

Well, new Flipwalker Liliana can fill this niche to an extent.
